Driving through NY, and stopped here for breakfast based on Google reviews. Did not disappoint! We ordered omelets, and they were cooked perfectly and served with good home fries and toast (the rye is especially good). Coffee is solid. Omelets are made with eggs from the shell and not the liquid nastiness that passes for eggs. Quick, excellent service and reasonable prices. Two thumbs up!
I used to live in the area. I was here visiting and was alone one day. I remember Pete's Famous especially from my younger years. It brought back fond memories, so decided to stop in for lunch. I was very disappointed. Nice but just ok. Food was mediocre. Customers were entitled Rhinebeck where food must be gluten free and kids needing special menus for spaghetti with no sauce. Loud with kids. I cut short my lunch. Waitress did not accommodate seating. Again,...
Got the fish and Grits as a Southerner I was confused but I understood..Its definitely a let down.
One piece of over battered fish ..light flour cornmeal mix salt pepper is all you need to fry a great piece of fish for a breakfast meal . That was for a pub meal.
