Food was good, but they charged us significantly (30%) more than menu advertises. When I saw the check and asked them why they said it's old menu. I guess this is their surcharge for non-hispanic customers. Place is shady, not in the best part of town and I am not sure they heard word"hygiene" before.
This is incredibly authentic Mexican food. We dropped in on a quiet weekday afternoon, and had great service. They made us feel right at home. Salsa roja was wonderful, but also a great selection of other salsas to go with tortilla chips with black bean salsa and queso fresco. My husband had steak tacos, and I had the chorizo burrito. Huge portions! Highly recommend!

Friendly folks with heaping portions of food. Their empanadas (3 for $13) are more like quesadillas with meat but still were very satisfying. The major win for this restaurant in addition to the portion sizes? Their handmade flour tortillas that come on their empanadas / quesadillas -- such delicious, earthy and chewy tortillas! They're really close to the stairs to go up to the walkway over the hudson. Great stop before or after a trek! They've updated their name to "Seven".
