Schatzi’s offers a nice draft list of some good beer, good sized portions, and friendly staff. We got seats at the bar and had good service the entire time. We were given the wrong specials menu which was disappointing because one of the specials sounded perfect for me but I got the Schatzi’s burger instead and it was a bit dry. Slightly overdone and not enough of their sauce, I think the potato pancake on top absorbs it and left the rest of the burger dry. Great sized meal though. My wife got the fried chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. We would stop again and see what’s new next time we are in Poughkeepsie.
Ok so made my own Specail tonight ....had the Schnitzel with Roast Potatoes , Spinach and the mushroom gravy. As someone who travels and eats out alot this is the dest $21 I have spent .Amazing and filling and needs to be a menu item .One of the few restaurants open downtown Poughkeepsie on a Monday night and a stone throw from the Hilton . 6 Stars would be a better score !
We ended up having our welcome event for our wedding weekend at this location since our numbers did not quite work out with Zeus's brewery. And I think that was the best unexpected turn of events! The back patio is beautiful and spacious. The food here is mostly apps and perfect for finger food. The drinks were fun, including many local beers, as well as cocktails and wine. The staff was very friendly. They made our welcome event before our big day very special as well! Jeremy went above and beyond to help us out!
Great little German pup
Burgers to die for! And everything else is an A+
Food was good not great. Pub food. The server was run off her feet. Clearly they need another server to cover a full restaurant. I felt sorry for her.
Beer menu is excellent and well curated
Chicken spetzal soup! 🤤🤤🤤
Great German food and beer selection! Reasonable prices. The pretzels appetizer and the schnitzel are delicious. Good burgers too. We love sitting on the patio. Family friendly
Wife got the chicken sandwich and it was dry, like chewing leather. My sausage was good. Service was also really bad, granted we were a party of 10, wrong and mixed orders. It also took forever to order. We also got a visit from the local raccoon, kinda cool but prob not safe. One positive, they had Vermont beers on draft.
People if you're town and looking a clean establishment with a welcoming environment plus great tasting food and food choices then Schatz's is the place to go. The Frickles which are fried pickles, are just 😋. I mean the batter is seasoned and sicks to the pickle chips without falling apart. The Schnitzel is a thinly pounded breaded pork loin, braised red cabbage, German potato salad with side sauces and it is just off the chain delicious! Silverware spotless. My wife and I will definitely return the next we're in the area!

We ordered a large two topping hamburger sausage pizza there is literally one piece of meat per slice of pizza. That is ludacris. I paid $7 for the two toppings yet I only believe I got one topping that was mixed throughout my pizza. That being said I would only order a one-topping pizza because that's honestly what you're getting. But the pizza was good period if I could add a picture I would
