I have been to Spettro numerous times and it has never disappointed.
It's not a large space so I would recommend reservations. The service has always been great but it's the food that keeps me coming back.
With a varied and changing menu you can always find something you like.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bartenders. The cocktails are made to perfection and some good conversation. My wife's Moscow Mule was great and my extra dry vodka martini with a twist was to perfection.

Worst pasta I’ve had in 10 years. I ordered the spaghetti with Calabrian chili. It was served in a pool of broken butter and when I asked for more Calabrian chili, which was completely absent, they tried to upcharge me for another plate. Stick to the pizza here or their happy meals.

I would give it 6 stars if I could!! Went for Valentine’s Day dinner and it did not disappoint! The vibes were super cool with nice low lighting. The waitress was so friendly and checked on us a perfect amount :) The food was AMAZING!! The calamari was seasoned wonderfully- such good spices! The chicken and short rib pasta were delicious!! Amazing flavors! For dessert we had the hazelnut gelato which brought me back to my time in Italy it was that good! Thank you and we will be back!!

Good Italian food. Great pizzas. The apps were good also. Cannoli for dessert wasn't amazing. The shell just didn't have the crunch it should have. Service was good but they were very busy and there were times when our server disappeared for a bit. TVs for watching the game but you can sit in the other side where there are none

Best pizza in Poughkeepsie. Real italian pizza, great ingredients and variety. The place looks modern and fun, and service is very attentive. It has become our regular!

Friends and I had brunch reservations a month ago and the overall impression I have of Spettro is somewhat underwhelming. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy and our waitress was polite, but not necessarily friendly or particularly attentive-I almost felt like we were bothering her. The food was good but not great, and portions are fair for the prices. Nothing was bad, but nothing was really special or amazing, either. Cocktails and lattes were well made, but the harvest crostini app, at $19 for essentially a slice of bread with stuff on it, was disappointing and not very flavorful. My prosciutto and Asian pear app was “fine.” The pears were slightly hard, and there wasn’t much to the dish, though the thin prosciutto paired well with the pears and the bits of salt. There was no micro basil as advertised on the menu. The entrees were well prepared. The Spettro benedict I ordered was tasty, and the potatoes were delicious, and my friends enjoyed their risotto carbonara and pan con tomate toast. However, with the disappointing appetizers and the inattentive/lukewarm service, no real greeting upon entering, and no “thank you” on the way out, I’m not really eager to try this place again, especially with so many good brunch options in the area. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out, either.

Great, modern Italian eatery that is aesthetically pleasing, has great service, and very good food. We drove up to meet our son for his birthday as he attends a local college and he wanted to go here. Calamari was delicious - melted in your mouth with spicy peppers being a palate option. The pizzas - we got The Fungii and Margarita - both wonderful with prefectly coal fired crust and were lightly dusted with salt crystals = yum. Our older son got the scallops and loved them. My husband got a cheese burger, he was the only one unsatisfied and said so to our waitress. They were so nice and immediately took it off the bill and said they would refire. He ate our pizza and decided not to, but the manager came over and was sincere and kind. Overall, highly recommend if looking for a modern, delicious alternative to your typical Italian restaurant that you can get anywhere. Next time I will try a pasta dish as they have a unique variety, but I wasn't sure I should try.

Wife and I passed this place trying to find parking for another place so we could do a little lunch date for our anniversary. Well, the other place was kind of busy so we decided to give this place a try and boy we’re glad we did Food was great, Atmosphere was good And our waitress was very kind and pleasant. We took some food home to try. Glad we tried this place. We’ll be back 😀

Top to bottom an absolutely stellar dining experience. The food was out of this world, the staff was incredibly friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable and the ambiance was elegant in its simplicity. 20/10 will be back!

My wife and I went there for our anniversary and were greeted as soon as we walked through the door by the extremely professional and courteous hostess. There was no wait, and we were seated promptly. We were seated at a table next to the bar which overlooks an open kitchen. My wife had Short Rib Tagliatelle. She said that the food was flavorful and elegantly served. I had the Riso Al Forno, the seafood was fresh and extremely tasteful. The rice was cooked to perfection and slightly crispy around the edges, and bottom where it was in contact with the cast iron but not burned. For dessert we had the Brioche Con Gelato which had a great pistachio taste. The Bischoff Cheesecake was a nice consistency and tasted just like the cookie for which it was named after. Our waitress was very attentive while not being overbearing. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Make reservations in advance.

Great food, a nice modern ambiance, but also very busy and loud. On a Friday evening the staff was working so hard, it was unbelievable. The hottie cutie pizza (margherita with prosciutto) was great, chewy and fresh, and the pumpkin gnocchi were decadent and filling. For brunch I tried the pesto pasta and it was delicious.

Our new favorite Restaurant. We go at least three times a month. The food is top notch. The flavors the chef creates are amazing. The atmosphere is lovely. And the service is exceptional. I can’t say enough about this place. The sweet potato fries are the best I’ve ever had. And the cheesecake wow! Just try it.

They asked if we had a reservation, we did not. They put us in the corner of the other bar area despite there being plenty of tables. After eating and finishing and paying our bill there were still plenty of tables available. I didn’t think we’d need a reservation on a Thursday night at 5pm in Poughkeepsie. Turns out we were right we did not. The food was good, however their hostess was not. Sitting in the corner for dinner at the “other bar area” did not make for a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere is noisy despite being half empty. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation if you want to go here. Probably won’t return.
