The owner NAILED IT! The atmosphere is amazing, with outdoor seating on the beautiful Hudson River. The food is awesome too. I try something new each visit and am pleased every time. My guests are equally impressed. Our new favorite spot in the beautiful Hudson Valley. You will LOVE it!

Went here on June 21st 2025 with a party of four for a birthday celebration. When we received the check at the end, it was a little over $200 for four people added a 20% tip onto the top of that. Then either server or the restaurant decided to add their own tip on top of that and the total came out to $349.79! They never gave us a receipt and didn’t see it to a few days later when checking back account. WTF is this nonsense and because we didn’t get a physical receipt, our bank will not let us dispute the charge! Would never go back to this place again I would not recommend it to anyone!!!

I have visited the Governess several times while bicycling on the rail trail just up the street . The Governess has a nice relaxing atmosphere right on the waterfront, good food & drink , the wait staff are friendly & accommodating as well as the manager Melanie. Good vibe here folks give it a try !!

It was my first time there and I had a really great time the bartender is wonderful.

Amazing drinks! Jennifer makes great cocktails. All of the cocktails I had on the menu containing vanilla were very yummy. Nice vibes on Black Friday evening. Would highly recommend. And the coolest part: the bathrooms. My girlfriend and I both thought the bathrooms were the coolest thing ever. You’ve gotta check it out for yourself!

Omg! It was so so sooooo delicious! Please go and eat there. Food was absolutely incredible! And, they were playing a 90’s hip-hop playlist.

Vegetarian options: Sides, salads w/ alterations. If you’re a vegetarian, you can definitely find something delicious here.

Kid-friendliness: Granddaughter enjoyed the food and really liked the Frozen-theme in the bathroom!

All of these recent ratings are FAKE. Owner is bribing customers with free shots if given proof of a 5 star rating. Look for yourself. Nobody gets 100+ 5 star ratings within a couple days. During the week, especially through the slow season. Owner is desperate beyond belief.
