I was excited to check out Cafe Joust after seeing the reviews on here and the menu on the website. Unfortunately their online menu is completely out of date. According to the employee we talked to they no longer serve the vegan "puffs" because the woman who they use to source them from is too busy doing farmers markets and her own sales to make them for the cafe anymore. They also don't offer the falafel plate and two of the toast options anymore. That being said the food we did order (avocado toast) was quite good and the service and atmosphere were pleasant.

Great place for food and coffee / tea. I had a rice bowl and my wife had breakfast pita. Rice bowl was out of this world. Stormy earl gray tea was amazing. Folks here are super friendly and atmosphere here is cozy.

We stopped in on a Saturday morning and ordered an egg in pita with avocado. We were the only customers waiting for service. The guy cooking was performing his set up tasks, and was not taking a break to handle our order. The order seemed to be taking quite a long time - we were waiting at least 15 minutes. We asked what was taking so long and the woman replied, it takes awhile to cook an egg properly. The egg sandwich was ready soon after our reminder. This delay, and her snarky answer, were inexcusable. I work as a waiter, and if a manager ever heard me saying that to a customer, I would be reprimanded, and rightly. It was very expensive too. We won't be going back.

I really dig Joust. Great, extra friendly people. Lauren and Adam are really nice hosts, always make it feel welcoming. And I must say the food is mindbendingly incredible. They had these sandwiches yesterday seriously I would go there for nearly everyday if they included it on the menu. We need way better sandwich options in this town (Catskill is severely lacking in the sandwich arts) and I'm imploring the sandwich gods that Joust will put that sandwich on the menu permanently! Maybe make it bigger so I can eat more of it! Many thanks, and truly great stuff.

Best dang avocado toast around. Nice chai and matcha lattes. Almost always some tasty vegan baked goods available.The lunch options are nice but a little scanty for my taste. Would love to see some heartier dishes.
