We popped in for coffee and a very good cup of Assam tea.

The vegetarian menu looks good and was highly recommended by our friends who live locally.

Love that this spot is pretty much fully vegan now. Always cool stuff happening here. Keep up the great work!

We ordered most of the things on the menu rice bowls, salad, vegan breakfast , avocado toast and banana bread and tea and juice. Everything was fresh, very good and healthy .

Was passing through town and was happy to find a place with vegan options. Unfortunately the food was a flop. They were out of all rice bowls and their breakfast plate. Banana bread and cinnamon bun were super dry and flavorless. The avocado toast was burnt with rock hard avocado, though it did have pretty good pesto and tahini on it. Drink cooler was almost entirely empty with only two drink options and some dirty vegetable boxes:

Very chill, open space. Various seatings, including for kiddos. Games on the bench in front. Couches in back.
Clean tables! Cool decore and calming colors/paint.
I had an excellent oatmilk iced matcha! So tasty, with a little vanilla.
Little kids seats in front with a few kids toys (Legos, tiles, crayons 🖍)

Insanely good… we got the early grey over ice with soymilk… two rice bowls with the mushroom “bacon”. SO flavorful, very creative and delicious menu. Peaceful space. Friendly welcoming staff. I wish we lived nearby and could come all the time :’)

Nice spot! Small portions for price. Live music played, very cozy spot. Good was good just would like bigger portions for the cost of the item

This place is absolutely amazing and delicious! I highly, highly recommend it — you must check it out. Every item on the menu is excellent, and I truly believe it’s one of the best cafes in the area. A total gem!

Vegetarians rejoice!

Where do I start? How about with the best damn sandwich I've had in years. This place was recommended to us, as my wife and I are vegetarians.

I ordered the Fontina Panino (vegan sausage, fontina cheese, arugula and fennel mustard on ciabatta) and a cortado to drink. We take out seat in the very cool back room, and only after 5 or so minutes the drink and food arrives. Now I am a complete foodie, really tough on everything I eat, but after one bite I was in love. To the point where I asked Lauren, the owner, what mustard they were using, and then ordered a panini press when I got home hoping to recreate the magic. Perfectly chewy bread, just the right balance of sweet and savory, and that mustard. Truly amazing. My wife ordered the avocado toast which she said was perfection.

I wish I could bundle this place up and ship it to New Haven because I'd be eating one of those sandwiches every week.

As for everything else: The service was great. The atmosphere laid back and funky. Everything was reasonable priced.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Cafe Joust!

Food was amazing! Nice little cozy place to eat in, especially on a rainy day. Very homey. The avocado toast was perhaps the best I've had!

The vegan breakfast and the avocado toast are my favorite things on the menu. Great coffee and matcha drinks too. A good lunch spot.
