We went here last year and were very pleasantly surprised. Just went back before we saw s show at the Suffolk theater. Again it was delicious. Gluten free options galore! Drinks were yummy as well. Our server Laura was so nice and helpful. Go to this restaurant!!

I highly recommend Dark Horse! Had the Merlot Braised Beef and just delicious. Soups were really good too. If this place was located in the Hamptons or the North Fork, you wouldn't be able to get a reservation at this place. It's that good! But in Riverhead, should be an easy get. Go!

My husband and I had dinner at Dark Horse last night while in Riverhead. We both had the pork chop with mango chutney, which was tender & delicious. It was accompanied by roasted potatoes and asparagus, which was yummy. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We had an enjoyable evening, and would definitely return here.

Food was great! Pate was so good, with crackers and dips, steak frites, perfection and to die for roasted potatoes plus Caesar salad, clam chowder and crab cakes. Could not stop saying how wonderful the food was. Service too was great along with the ambience, a perfect dinner experience!!! Will be back!

We were thrilled when we heard this restaurant was celiac safe. Unfortunately, my celiac husband did have a reaction when we got home. It wasn’t full blown, which makes me think it was due to bread cross-contamination (we both ordered burgers).
