Review: Jack’s Nightmare Halloween Pop-Up Experience @ The Ainsworth in RVC

If you’re looking to dive into Halloween magic, Jack’s Nightmare Halloween Pop-Up at The Ainsworth in Rockville Centre is a must-visit! Inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas, this pop-up delivers on every front—decor, food, and atmosphere.

The Halloween-themed decor and ambiance were perfect, fully embracing the spooky season. The food was fantastic, with quick and attentive service that made the experience even better. We tried a few options from the special menu, including a fresh Caesar salad that was crisp and flavorful, and a steak sandwich with perfectly cooked, tender meat. Each dish was delicious, well-prepared, and came out promptly.

Another highlight, was the bar! The drink menu was customized for the Halloween theme, and the bartenders were experts at mixing and pouring. They even brought a huge 51-ounce drink to our table and poured it right there, adding to the fun of the experience. This table-side touch really made the night feel interactive and memorable.

The staff was friendly, and Jack himself made an appearance along side Sally, adding to the fun with table-side interactions and photo ops that made the evening feel extra special. With great food, fantastic service, and a memorable theme, this is easily a five-star experience that we’d recommend to everyone.

Drive 2 hours from Hyde Park (Dutchess County) for my two kids and it was worth it for the Nightmare Before Christmas pop up. Sarah was great my 4 year old son is very shy and she was great with him.

Excellent service and food was the chiefs kiss. There was a party going on and they were so happy and got the whole restaurant laughing, singing and a few were dancing.

I came here for my friend’s birthday and we did the brunch. The music was good until the kitchen closed at 4pm and they switched it to just country music. The cookies and cream pancakes were dry and taste bad, But the fries were good. Also the bathroom was really disgusting. There was no soap in the bathroom and I had to go around asking for hand sanitizer. However the service was ok they gave everyone shots for the birthday girl

Food and service were amazing! If you want to just stare at each other and not talk at all this is the place to go and enjoy your food. The food is so yummy and the service was really great. BUT The DJ was so loud that our Apple Watches notified us for extreme noise level that if exposed to for more than 90 minutes could cause temporary hearing loss. We literally couldn't hear each other sitting right next to each other. We are quickly and went To a cafe down the block to chat. If the DJ wasn't so loud we would have lingered longer.

Me and my friend really enjoyed the food. The service was not the best because there were many very large groups being prioritized over just the two of us. The music was also very loud which made it difficult to have a conversation. If you are looking for upbeat music, good food, and are not in a rush, this place would be a good choice.

Brunch with my friends was amazing. DJ played great music and food and service was great !!4/13/24 stop by here for a quick bite after a long day of being in the city. We had really good snacks. The drinks were OK. I’d still go back. There was a DJ there playing music for a party so it was nice to have the music playing as well. We do not mind the music, however it was loud again. We did not care. We enjoyed it.

As entertaining as the music is, it is harming our VIBE. The water tastes like tin. The mimosas are stellar, but let's talk about this MUSIC. YO, the playlist is a hit but the NOISE is not.We told the manager aka the guy in the blazer we are going deaf and he responded with, "Welcome to the club." Overall, we have good company but PLEASE turn down the music. DJ is Booch, wouldn't recommend, he is too focused on his own vibe than the customers.

Wow this place was LOUD! But it may have been that there were a few birthday parties going on simultaneously. My salmon that I ordered was BURNT! I have never gone to a restaurant that can jack up salmon! The staff and manager were very accommodating and apologetic, so sometimes things happen. When they brought my food back, which took a while, my meal was good. Redemption did occur.
