What you'd probably expect at a place called Tap Room is a wide variety of beers on tap. And you'd be right. What you might not expect is great food! The menu options at Tap Room far defied my expectations in terms of variety and flavor. All told, solid dining experience.

ROUGH EXPERIENCE St. Patrick's Day at Tap Room RVC. My friends and I are frequents at the Farmingdale location and chose to try out a different spot for the night to change it up. We all met up inside the RVC location and when we went to order at the bar we were asked for IDs (normal occurrence). The bartender left and then a Blonde Employee came back to take our IDs once more however this time she collected them. She thoroughly inspected the ID's and proclaimed "THERE IS NO WAY THESE ARE ALL REAL!" We assured her we are actually all of age, as we are all locals of varying ages and half of us still have ID photos from our 16 year old driving permits. We offered photo document of our passports and additional forms of identification, which were denied. She then took the ID's to the back without consent and five minutes later another person came out handed our ID's back and denied our service. We were happy to leave as this was no longer a place we wanted to accept service from, however the EMPLOYEES COULD HAVE BEEN MORE PROFESSIONAL AND SCANNED ID'S BEFORE ASSUMING AND PROCLAIMING THEY'RE FAKE.

waitress and bartender refused to serve me and my group of friends because our IDs are too "shiny and new looking" and lost business and respect because my friends and I enjoy tap room in every other town!

It’s a kool spot, went for my brother in law’s birthday with some friends and family for just drinks. I had a margarita (my go to is always tequila) and my partner had tequila with grapefruit, and the tequila they used wasn’t top shelf or a good brand - though I will say I also didn’t specify which tequila to use, to their credit. Pretty decent ambiance and variety of English music. You can get a seat at the bar if you go early - we were there around 8pm til about 11pm. Earlier in the evening I will say it was more of an older crowd like late 40s to 50s and up, and then later into the night it was a much younger crowd like 20s. Our group was mostly in our 30’s and my sister in law had picked this bar at random (none of us had ever been there), so it was interesting to see such a wide mix of age extremes lol. Overall a kool place. Has split levels on the first floor and a top floor, so all in all 3 areas to mingle. Good to go for a quick easy drink.

Great place, friendly staff. Have been coming for Brunch for long time. Unfortunately they changed the Bloody Mary mix and it's just awful! It used to be fantastic. Why mess with a great thing?

Sydney was amazing!! She went over the mocktails knowing that one of us couldn’t drink. Each drink was explained to us what was in it and made it special. Seeing how nice she was to us made us want to come back again (Which we have). Keep up the great work.

The server was so nice and friendly he made sure that we had everything we needed and the food was delicious and very fulfilling the plus part about it was that they had allergy friendly food for my child. Would definitely go again and recommend.Parking: Some areas are only for employees but you can park there after the hours, parking with paid meters and some areas without.

Tough to call it "bar food" because it is such good quality, but amazing quality bar foods for sure. Bartenders went for trivia night that they host every Wednesday and had a blast, will 100% be back every Wednesday! Can't recommend this place enough!

The door facing the door walkable avenue was locked and I had to enter through the residents only parking lot out back.Walking in I was ignored by multiple staff members having to loudly call out to multiple people before being tended to.No sense of urgency; loud, rowdy sports bar vibe.I ordered the Radiant Pig “Really Cold Triple IPA”. There was absolutely no CO2 in this beer. Totally flat, no head. It was also served in a cask beer glass which doesn’t lend itself well to IPAs.I then ordered the Eagle Brewery Banana Bread beer. Someone else made it—yet it was also flat with no CO2, served in a cask glass but bigger than the one the Really Cold was served in.I spoke to a manager (though I didn’t ask to) who surprised me with a *comped*banana bread with a proper head on it, though still it tasted flat… it was in a cask beer glass after all…Not sure if the missing heads on the first two were poor pouring technique as I wasn’t watching but the proper head was welcome as I wasn’t looking for a freebie.Generally terrible experience, but some redemption for the manager. The food looked decent and the menu was modern but I didn’t get to try.Advice: even moderately experienced beer drinkers beware.Advice for establishment: check CO2 pressure, verify proper pouring technique, and use glasses that work well with the type of beer. Cask beer glasses go well with English Brandywine Ales and the like. Not juicy/hazy IPAs. They’ll even do better in the standard beer glass than a cask beer glass.

Don't expect to be served unless youre sitting at the bar. Waited 30 mins for a seat and another 30 minutes at the table. A waiter did not come up to us once. Went across the street for

I went to the taproom with a bunch of our coworkers for a holiday gathering. We ordered a bunch of different appetizers, and they were all amazing. The wings were perfect. The bartender's girls were great. However, when we were at the table, nobody would come to clear the table, so one of the guys we were with kept taking the dirty plates to the dirty station ? which was no big deal. Overall, it was a great place I would go back to.

The drinks and food are good but nothing to write home about. But I gave it two stars for a few reasons.First off we had set up our work holiday gathering here on Friday December 23rd. Now it wasn't a catered event or where we rented the space, our co-workers all just agreed it would be a good spot to meet. Being that I come from the restaurant industry and I know how crowded bars can be, especially on a holiday weekend, I called a week in advance to make sure that their bar and seating area could accommodate us being we were going to be approximately 50 people. I spoke to two different people, one of whom was a manager, who said it would be no problem. On the phone I even elaborated that "I know from my days in the industry when a party that size arrives unexpectedly it could be overwhelming and too busy to keep up". The manager assured me that wouldn't be the case. So when we showed up (mind you not all at the same time either), they were understaffed and EXTREMELY overwhelmed. I am not trying to blame the bartenders or servers here, to me this is a management issue. It took at times over 20 minutes to order a drink at the bar, staff couldn't decide whether they wanted to serve us where we decided to sit (because a lot of us chose to eat), or require us to order food and drink from the bar, and obviously being that overwhelmed by a large party, everything just seemed chaotic. At one point a lot of us just decided it would be easier for one of us to gather our own drink orders for a few people at a time and go place the order at the bar at once. So in casual conversation with one of the bartenders while I was ordering the group order, she stated "it's usually not this busy and it would have been good had we known you all were coming". When I informed her I had in fact called ahead, explained the situation in detail to a manager, and left my name and number, she said no one let them know that. So it seems there was a lack of communication on their part.Aside from that a lot of us decided to order specialty cocktails from the menu. Now while these were good and reasonably priced, you would order the same one two different times, and it would taste completely different. Now surprisingly, both times it was still enjoyable, but again being from the industry, this is totally unprofessional. All staff making drinks need to be trained how to make the drink exactly the same, especially if it's one of the specialty cocktails on the menu. This isn't the case here.Lastly, being they were so busy, by the time you ordered food and managed to get it either delivered to your table or pick it up yourself from the bar, it was lukewarm. Also even though most of us did eat and had appetizers and etc, at a certain time they asked us to "leave the tables so they can get ready for dinner service", which they did do but then other groups came and sat at the tables and simply ordered drinks without food. So I'm not sure what that was about.Overall I can see this being a cool place to bring a friend or two for a local hangout but this experience just left me a little wary of bringing a large group here even if you call ahead. Now actually renting the space would probably lead to a much different and better experience, or at least I would hope so.
