Island Empanada

Have been getting the nada beef empanadas from Ronkonkoma for years. Ordered a dinner special (3 nada beef empanadas, rice and beans, sweet plantains and a Dr. Pepper). About $20 and always good. Girls working the counter were very nice, too. I did prefer the empanadas before they changed to beyond meat but they were still good and filling. #Veganuary

Our NYE takeout was excellent! It was hard to decide with so many choices. My daughter also liked everything she tried.

I love Island Empanada so much! It is my favorite fast food place on Long Island! 😍😋

Vegetarian options: Several great choices for vegans: "Nada Beef" empanada and "Veggie" empanada, as well as all sides (plantains, rice & beans, and tostones) are all vegan!

The food is very authentic, I recommend calling in ahead of time. The sofrito balls are fantastic. Their empanada list is very good as well.

I had the nada beef empanada, the veggie empanada, and the plantains. It was all very tasty, and the price/performance ratio was amazing! P.S.: All the sides are vegan!

I've gone to the one in Medford a million times and it has always been great. Everyone with me said this one didn't seem the same. Not only that but there was a long hair in one of my empanadas which stopped everyone. Service was nice and quick but that was just absolutely disgusting, sorry but that completely ruins it.

Got 2 beef empanadas. Delicious, and only cost me 8 bucks. Staff was friendly. Place was well lit, clean, and upbeat with music playing. Will be going back to try other empanadas.

Awesome food! Oreo empanada is one of the best food creations ever, def a must try. The 5-8pm dinner special is a great deal. 3 empanadas rice/beans plantains or double rice beans with a drink for 15 bucks is pretty hard to beat nowadays. Rice and beans are some of the best ive had from a restaurant. Highly reccommended.

I’m expecting something better the pork empanadas very dry , rice over cook ,now understand why that place look empty .very disappointed . The not even give me spices $40.00 when down the drain .
