I recently moved to Rocky Point but have always heard good things about the Sea Basin. I went there last night Sunday food was very good and service was excellent.

Three of us went here for Christmas Eve dinner. They had a limited menu but a fair amount of choices. We started off with the Stuffed Mushrooms filled with crabmeat and covered with mozzarella cheese. They were somewhat tasty but undercooked. The mushrooms were way too firm. I had the Surf and Turf $85-which was a 6 oz stuffed Lobster tail -which was rubbery- and a 6 oz filet which I ordered medium rare and it came out medium well. Sent it back and it came back just about raw. I didn't bother sending it back again. I just didn't eat it. My mother and Husband both had the Duck-58- and they both said it was overcooked and very dry. They ate what they could and didn't bother taking home the leftovers. We ordered 2 desserts and one Cappuccino and with the tip it came out to over $300. Way too expensive for what we got. This is our 3rd time in a row going here and it will be the last. It used to be much better but not anymore. Go elsewhere.

We knew that the owner of Spyros also was part owner of Sea Basin. We could not get a table at Spros so we headed to Sea Basin where there were plenty of tables. The staff were friendly and helpful. That said, the menu was limited and ordinary. However, the filet was perfectly cooked and delicious. The chicken dishes good. All good, but not exceptional. The cocktails were excellent.

The service here was great. Seafood bisque tasty. Large portion and tasty Caesar salad. The best part was the entrees. We had the salmon dish, the filet of Bass and the bay scallops. All were ample portions. The salmon was cooked exactly as requested and the mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. The scallops were plentiful with an interesting tomato basil sauce over angel hair pasta. The piece d'resistance was the bass delicately cooked with a breadcrumb topping over a crab cake (which was mostly crab) and some fresh spinach in a tropical fruit salsa which was sweet and fabulous. We had the 2-course restaurant week lunch menu which is served until 4 pm. Definitely will return.

We've been going to The Sea Basin for over 30-years and have never had a disappointing meal. The recent renovation gives it a more modern feel and the addition of the bar and high tops allow for outanding cocktails and great bar food. The main dining area maintains a traditional eating experience with a great menu. We go atleast once a month and occasionally we'll just stop by, sit at the bar, have a couple of drinks and something fun to eat. Bartenders are very friendly and do a great job

Food was ok. The duck was overcooked and dry. The calamari was undercooked and chewy and the few diavolo was spicy yes but mixed with a sweeter marinara sauce, not a good combo

It was my first at the Sea Basin, it was absolutely incredible my fiancé and I did the Price Fix and it was amazing! She had the steak and I had the roasted duck!

Buyer beware! There is no lobster in the stuffed lobster. They presented a tail stuffed with scallops and a very dry, sticky stuffing. Not one bite of lobster. They did have two tiny claws on the side. They comped our wine, but I was really looking forward to a 1.25 pd lobster which is what was advertised. Won’t be back
