El Jarocho Mexican Restaurant and Bar

The food is fast, affordable and delicious! We have never been disappointed. They are reliable and consistent. Family owned and very welcoming - just love this place, been many times and will keep coming back!

We were excited to try this restaurant because it looks beautiful from the outside — but that’s where the positives end.

The food was disappointing. Nothing tasted fresh. The beans weren’t even refried — they were watery, bland, and tasted like they came straight from a can. The meat had no seasoning, and the rice was cold and tasted like microwaved leftovers. It felt like zero effort was put into the food.

To make matters worse, the service was just as bad. There were only three patrons in the entire restaurant, yet the staff acted like we were bothering them by even being there. The only friendly face was Jorge, who went out of his way to make sure we were accommodated — but about 10 minutes in, he went on break and we were left with two rude and dismissive employees who clearly didn’t want to be there.

We will never return. This restaurant may be pretty on the outside, but on the inside, it’s all bad — bad food, bad service, and bad energy. Not too add the food is overpriced.

Everything tasted like tomato sauce!

Place looks nice. Food? Terrible. I asked the bartender if he'd pay $18 for 3 of these tacos (sent out just like the pic) he hesitated and still said an unsure yes. Didnt let me speak, no sympathy, or even trying to make anything right. Point is, idk how this place has 4.5 stars... i'd say more of a 1.5 just because it looks like a decent place. Food is too dry, including rice, beans, sauce. Just overall not worth it!

Visited today for the first time. Totally recommend! Great portion sizes with pricing to match. Let’s talk about the amazing margaritas too! Omg, delicious! Special thanks to our waiter who let me practice my Spanish while ordering, and our bartender who checked on our margs table side. I live in Rochester and just found my fav new spot in Rome! Run, don’t walk.

I just had to share my absolutely AMAZING experience at El Jarocho Mexican Restaurant and Bar. Seriously, if you're looking for authentic, mouth-watering Mexican food, look no further – you've found the jackpot! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away. The recent makeover is gorgeous! The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, like you've stepped right into a family fiesta. But let's talk about the food. Forget everything you think you know about Mexican food, because El Jarocho is on a whole different level of deliciousness. Every dish bursts with authentic flavors, clearly made with fresh ingredients and a whole lot of love. I honestly think it's the most authentic Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico itself! And here's the best part: the prices are unbelievably incredible! You can enjoy a truly fantastic, filling meal without breaking the bank. It's rare to find such high quality at such affordable prices these days. Finally, I have to mention the friendly atmosphere. The staff is so welcoming and attentive, making you feel right at home. They truly care about providing a great dining experience. So, if you haven't tried El Jarocho yet, you are seriously missing out! Do yourself a favor and head on over. I promise you won't be disappointed

This place makes authentic Mexican food. The decor is old and blah...pretty much old Bucky's with added cheap banners. They need to add to thier menu which sauces are mild, moderate and hot. Especially for people with GI issues.

The food is delicious! And the staff are friendly and accommodating. We have never had a bad meal or a bad experience at El Jarocho. We have dinner there at least once a month for the past couple of years. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I was never a fan of Mexican food until I went here. I have been trying several things on the menu and have loved everything. The refried beans are amazing. My husband and I go regularly. The service is great, margaritas are the best, and the food is amazing. The staff is wonderful.

I had the burrito California, and I had never had carne asada before. It was amazing. The fresh guacamole and pico was great with it. I definitely recommend stopping here to try the food! The server was very nice and quick. Nice atmosphere with the music as well. I would come here again to try more if I didn't live so far. Definitely recommend trying the food here!

One of our favourite places to eat. Restaurant staff are friendly and food is made quickly. It’s relatively quiet and they check on you regularly just in case there is anything else you need.
