It’s my favorite neighborhood restaurant to dine at and I often go to Sugarbeets after a productive week in the office. The owners are attentive and welcoming. I got the special last night with succulent seared scallops over velvety goat cheese mashed potatoes and a surprising pop of blackberry sauce was absolutely delicious.

Love this place, food is sooooo good! Portions are perfect and price for Fine dining is reasonable. Also the fun selections of cocktails and they make a mean Old Fashioned. We have sat on deck in summer and love the decor, inside and out, and the coziness. Staff are friendly and efficient. It was about $56 per person but that was with appetizers, soups, desserts, tip, drinks and Entrees of course.

Was pleasantly greeted by Fiona, quick and friendly service and made me feel very welcome, I had swordfish and risotto, I've never had swordfish but I chose the right place to try it, it was tender and full of flavor, a bit pricier than most places in the area but it's absolutely worth it, one of the finest places in Rome for sure.

We had a wonderful dinner at Sugarbeets. Fiona, our server, was very good. She really was busy taking care of us and her other customers in the dining room. The food was delicious. We had shrimp scampi and scallops and the calamari upgrade appetizer. All was spot on. Wine and beer were great. I recommend this place very highly.

Very nice establishment. Went in expecting it to be your average bar-n-grill. Was pleased to be greeted at the door, asked if we had reservations (never thought to ask for one) and when we didn't, we were seated and served at the bar. Food was very good. Atmosphere was adult and the sound levels allowed easy conversation among guests. The beer is good and the bartender is willing to make less common drinks upon request.
The only challenge was staffing. Too few to handle client load. In turn some meals were lost in the kitchen, some customers got frustrated with the delays. The bartender really could have used some help. The owner was on site and working hard. It is just a case of their reach exceed their grasp.
The tiramisu was very good.

Friday evening, my wife and I stopped in for dinner before a local show. They had full reservations even at 5:30 p.m., so we sat at the bar. We got our drinks and ordered and realized that because it was busy, it might take a while to get our food. Finally at 7:15 we asked about our food order. Somehow, they misplaced/didn't place/lost our order. We couldn't wait for them to prepare our meals so we left. We were very disappointed.
As a chef, I understand being busy and mistakes, but here's how they messed up. They allowed a waitress to take and place the order instead of the bartender. With only 10 seats at the bar, regardless of how busy, she should have handled our drink and food orders. Because she wasn't in the loop, she didn't even know we were waiting for food.
Did we wait too long? Yes. I was being patient since I used to be in the industry.
Would like to try it again on a less busy night. I don't believe they would have such a high rating if they didn't provide good service and great food.
They did comp our two glasses of wine...
Update: Thank you Logan for the quick reply. I totally understand how things can snowball in our business. Heck, if I had known all those details my wife, a bartender, and I could have jumped in to help! It has been a few years but certainly would have been fun!

Absolutely amazing evening! Me and my wife Mary went to try this place out after hearing our friends rave reviews. Amazing staff, awesome decor, and the food? Second to none. Glad to have this place right down the road from home!!! Our waitress Jenna was fantastic and super sweet!
We had the Pork tenderloin and Porkchop with fiddleheads, both were excellent!! My boyfriend liked his plate clean!! Great atmosphere and very attentive aervice!! Will be back with friends!! Thank you Logan for the great conversation!!
Excellent food and service. We sat on the patio. It was lovely!
Probably one of the best meals we have had. Our service was outstanding. We got to meet the chef. Can't say enough good about Sugarbeets. Looking forward to our next stop.
Went in when they were not busy, only 6 tables. The waitress came over with water and said I’ll be right back. After 15 minutes another waitress asked if she got us. She then was nice enough to take our order. When my beer came i didn’t get a glass. I asked for one with an orange in it. I got a warm glass, drank the beer warm. My husband ordered the lobster bisque with a crab cake on top which was literally the size of a quarter and the soup had a tangy wine flavor. I ordered sirloin tips which were so chewy I had to say something. I ordered the only other steak and they said charge her the $4 more. It came out 20 minutes later and had to have it boxed because my husband was done eating. We didn’t get to eat together. What a horrible experience!!
I also agree the person who complained about the chicken sandwich had every right. It’s so thin, so what there’s veggies on it.
It’s a CHICKEN sandwich.
