We ate at the old school retro restaurant. Very unassuming. The food was great! The view is beautiful if you sit in the backroom. Our waitress was excellent. The food came out fast ! Wait until you try the hot rosemary bread they bring to the table!

We went to the Riverside Café tonight for dinner. We made reservations for five. the waitress was extremely stressed, snatched menus out of our hands, didn’t come back to check in, brought us the to go boxes when we hadn’t even received our second drink! Bathroom had no soap. It was a mess… The food was meh, The service was terrible. I wish I could say something better tomorrow.

Worst “meal” I have ever had. Salad was good but dressing was so salty I couldn’t eat it and I love salt. Bread was the best part of dinner. I ordered the crab cake and after biting down on shells for the second time I put it aside. I wanted to order the steak but was informed by my waitress that I couldn’t have the mashed potatoes, they are only available with the specials. I again clarified to the waitress that I wanted to pay $38 for the strip steak but if it came with the baked potato I would settle for a burger. She then said the chef refused substitutions and let me settle for the $15 hamburger. When I finally got the burger it was a pre made patty accompanied by frozen commercial fries. Literally the worst dinner experience ever. Did I mention it took forever too?

I was staying at Callicoon Hills and looked up some nearby restaurants. I found one with great reviews, so I decided to check it out — and I was honestly blown away by how good the food was! Way better than I expected. A real hidden gem. Even the freshly baked bread that came out first was impressive — you could tell right away this place was something special. Every dish was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The mushroom risotto, in particular, was unforgettable. Honestly, I would’ve regretted not ordering it. It was that good.
On my second visit, I made a reservation in advance and asked for a window seat. My friends who came with us absolutely loved the place, and once again, the food was great. Unfortunately, the mushroom risotto wasn’t available this time, but the mushroom salad was just as delicious. It definitely didn’t disappoint. We had really good experiences and loved the food.

We stopped here on the way home from a roadtrip, just chose the first thing we saw & boy am I glad we did!! Holy God did the red pepper cream penne blow me away, my fiance ordered the weiner schnitzel which was incredible also! I dont think this place could make bad food if they tried. Even the salad & bread at the beginning was far above average. All of this with a view?!?! Yeah, you want to go here.

Just had major surgery and along with my friends driving home, we stopped in for some unique food and lovely view in their cozy, healing atmosphere. I even felt comfortable enough telling everyone what I was going through. The good cheer and delicious meal got me through a tough evening. We will be definately back.
