Went there the other night, ordered the smothered NY strip steak and it was the worst steak I’ve ever eaten. Half the steak was inedible, full of grizzle and fat. Had to spit out most of it because I couldn’t chew it. The up side was the salad bar and our waitress. Not going back anytime soon.

We recently celebrated my wife's birthday at the Rockland House with family and friends. The food was great, and the staff was very attentive. Our waitress was exceptional. We will be going back again.

I'm told it used to be better. Our Waitress seemed distracted, wishing to be anywhere else and not familiar with the menu, especially fish (Hello, it's Roscoe?) I've had fresh fish before, but not here. My friend's prime rib was sub-prime. Salad / dessert bar was better, but not for these prices. We watched as one waitress dropped several items off a plate on the way to another table. After awhile we took bets on how long it would lay on the carpet before she picked it up. Since she walked over it several times, grinding it into the carpet, and when we left no one had cleaned it up, I'm guessing it's still there...

Went to Rockland House a few years ago for a terrific prime rib. So naturally on this trip I ordered the same meal. It arrived covered with cheese -- but when I pulled back the layer of cheese I realized that 50 or 60 % of the king cut piece of meat was either fat or grizzle. I asked for a separate plate to put my fat &Grizzle and it filled up high. When the waitress asked if everything was all right I pointed to the plate of fat. She brought that plate into the kitchen to show the staff. She came back to the table (offered no explanation) and asked if we wanted our bill. I stopped her and said -- "surely they must have said something about the plate of fat?" She replied "They said that sometimes the Prime Rib arrives from the supplier very fatty." End of conversation -- I just shook my head and paid the bill and left. Never to return.

Rating for the restaurant. For a place with a large list of steaks, you would think they made a good one, but it was terrible. Undercooked, they brought it in to the back to try to cook it more, still came back literally raw and cold inside, and I ordered medium. They offered to take it back again, recooking the same steak three times.... Who does that? Anyway, I rarely give a poor review but this place earned it. Should've listened to the locals that advised against going there.
Food is great. Staff is friendly and service was fast. I would recommend to any one to eat here and I will eat here again.

Kayla our server was attentive and extremely efficient. We had dinner. We were camping nearby, so we did not utilize the hotel.
Food & drinks: The prime rib is great. The salad bar was excellent pretty much anything you needed was on it fresh greens a variety of toppings. The Lobster Bisque was very good.

We were here on 5/27/24. The service was fine. The prices were greatly increased from the prior year. The salad bar was very mediocre compared to other years. My husband ordered a double shot of vodka in a ginger ale. Well there wasn’t any vodka in the drink. We both sat there and tried to slowly drink it and hoping for any hint of alcohol. There was none. Between the decreased quality and the fact they obviously tried to rip us off on the drink, I won’t be going back. We paid $65 for nothing and never got a meal. Will never go back.
