I called Julia’s Local about a week before my reservation to let them know I’d be getting engaged earlier that day. Julia herself answered the phone — she was incredibly kind, friendly, and full of great energy. She told me she could set us up in a private room, which made the evening even more special!
Now, about the food… we started with the popovers and a salad. Hands down, the best popovers I’ve ever had — warm, flaky, and perfectly paired with incredible butter. The salad was so fresh, and the tomatoes were bursting with flavor.
For the main course, my fiancée ordered the chicken and I had the trout. The chicken was phenomenal — the skin was crisped to perfection and the meat was unbelievably juicy. The trout was equally amazing — delicate, perfectly cooked, and I loved the addition of shaved almonds for texture.
Truly some of the best chicken and trout I’ve ever had. The entire experience was thoughtful, delicious, and memorable from start to finish.

Amazing food, fantastic service, great environment. This restaurant is a model that all other restaurants in USA should follow. The owner made sure to let us know that tip is not needed, as all the staff are under the payroll and well compensated for their services. They operate in European style, and I just loved it!!!
