We came to Julia's on a whim. What a lovely experience! Norway meets upstate NY! I've never had Aquavit at any restaurant in the US. The service was impeccable, Julia herself took our coats and hung them up. We had a delightful chicken liver pate as a starter with homemade pickled onions and (Norwegian) kneip bread. My husband's mail dish was trout which he loved and I had a delicious beef brisket. We splurged for dessert, with a chocolate "pot au crem", coffee and Cognac. Super yum! P.S. Didn't take photos of everything as we were busy enjoying!

Julia's Local is indeed my 'local' and my friends and I couldn't be happier about that. The food is terrific as is the wine... especially the Chardonnay!!!! The atmosphere is anything but pretentious and prices extremely reasonable. One of the fascinating aspects of this venue is the fact that when you read the description of a dish, it sounds pretty normal, not terribly exciting. When it arrives however, not only does it look wonderful but it tastes absolutely amazing. Thank you, Julia and Henning

Julia's is hands down the best restaurant I've ever been in the USA. No doubt. Julia, Henning, Kelly and the whole staff are fenomenal. They always make you feel welcomed and make each time we attend the restaurant unique and special. The food is DIVINE, all year long. Farm to table doesn't even describe the freshness and elegance of each dish. Never have I ever looked forward to the sides as much as the star of a plate. I fear some day they'll get Michelin stars and become unattainable because I can't imagine not being able to have a table waiting for us at Julia's.

Our experience at this restaurant was truly a disappointment, to say the least. We went there with the intention of enjoying a nice meal, but instead, we were made to feel unwelcome by, of all people, the owner herself, Julia. She came to our table immediately after we ordered and made us feel uncomfortable, telling us we did not order enough food and drinks. She went even further and told us that we were "taking up a valuable table" in her restaurant. It was incredibly awkward, rude, and it ruined the atmosphere. She was so consumed with her "garden-to-table, seasonal menu" that she seemed to have forgotten the basics of simple, good manners. Ironically, while she was so focused on her "small business" and how much money she was losing by us being there, she seemed oblivious to the loud, barking dog in the restaurant, which made the experience even more unpleasant. While the owner later admitted the remark was inappropriate, there was no sincere apology or effort to make things right. Needless to say, we will never be returning to that restaurant and word of mouth is one of the most powerful forms of communication and marketing.

A celebration of ingredients! We loved every bite of our meal. The bread and daily butter, tomato salad, and trout cakes were so fresh and delicious. Short rib was excellent. But the lemon pudding stole the show at the last minute! Kelly and Kristina were so delightful, too! A must visit if you’re in the area!

Everything was spot on; I love the fact that the chef grows the majority of the produce. I started with the heirloom tomato salad and was surprised by the flavor bursting out of those tomatoes- a type of tomato I usually find more interesting looking than tasting. Also had the stuffed pepper - nicely balanced with the muhammara sauce. My husband enjoyed the perfectly cooked trout. All of the staff seem to enjoy their work and went above and beyond. You can see I really loved this place… if I could have gone back the next evening, I would have.

Food and drinks were amazing. The night we went they were short staffed and would never have known if we weren’t told. No shortcuts ever! So much thought, care and wit go into everything. We loved every minute we spent in this magical place.
