Food was great, but for the first time in my experience at Ruby's, there were major service issues.
Always a fantastic dining experience. The grilled Mahi with all the accoutrements was perfect and the lobster and scallop risotto excellent! And...the profiteroles !!!!!
Service was standout good. Oyster selection looked good on menu. Presentation wasn't the best -- didn't really know which oysters were which, and the oyster sizes were very inconsistent. Blackened Swordfish was delicious. Great draft beer selection!
Bad menu, not good food. Fairly trashy patrons poorly dressed. And poorly dressed staff. Good be a cute classic oyster bar and should be since it's in Rye, but it's a total miss.
The food was good, big portions, the Scalamandré wallpaper was a nice surprise, and the server was the nicest woman who gave off great energy
Ruby’s Rye, NY Great place to eat. We had 6 of us. Grandparents, parents, and kids. We all enjoyed tasting some various appetizers. Everyone had a different main and loved them. The tuna tartare appetizer was fabulous. Had had a wide variety of appetizers. It is awesome. The Brussels sprouts were great, someone loved the fried oysters. The seafood as great. I loved the Bronzino special with risotto. Someone loved the lobster 🦞 gnocchi, and someone loved the bouillabaisse with shrimp 🍤, mussels, clams, and fish 🎣. The standard dirty martini 🍸 with Tito’s was also awesome. Great place to take the family. Easy date night with room at the bar. We had reservations which is recommended for parties over 2-3 because very popular and popping.

Been coming here fore years and years (seriously- like 15 years). First disappointment was today. Soup came out luke warm then meal came out luke warm. I sent my meal back- clearly popped under a warmer. Fish was dried out and flavorless- even the decoration on the plate was left on the side (sauce evaporated). Free glass of wine for my troubles, but sorely disappointed in the kitchen tonight

I usually love this place- but we had the absolute worst service here the other day which completely ruined the experience. We sat with our empty drink glasses waiting for our entrees- waiter who sat us and took our order was nowhere to be found. We watched as a table that sat way after us got their order. Someone who wasn't our waiter finally came over to ask if we were waiting for something- yes, the food that we ordered 45 minutes ago. Waited some more for over cooked fries and dishes that weren't hot. They offered up one complimentary drink but no explanation or real apology- I could see our waiter take on a new table but he never came over to us again to ask if we needed anything which just made the whole thing uncomfortable considering the restaurant was nearly empty. Then they gave us the bill which had every item charged twice. I really don't ask for much, but it was just ridiculous and embarrassing for everyone involved.

This restaurant is not like it used to be. Seems to have lost its spirit. The food was average at best. Dry seafood and a tiny overpriced steak.

Ruby's is a fun place to eat. We had a later reservation and had our meal rushed out. I'm sure the workers wanted to clean up and go home. But that's dining life in the suburbs.
Enjoyed my lunch thoroughly. Food was on point. Choices were excellent. The only problem was we got a parking ticket. Signs were not clear. We would have gladly paid your passport parking if we knew we had to do so
We've been to Ruby's a few times before but not in a few years. We found it to be as good an experience as we remembered. Windows were open on a nice night, our waitstaff was great and the shrimp & scallop over pasta special was delicious. They serve Langford's ice cream along with other desserts which was a nice feature. The downside is it can be loud - voices and background music.
We sat outside on the very pretty Rye main street. The menu was attractive. My salad was spoiled by excessive vinegary dressing; my wife's seafood pasta was acceptable but not better than that. Altogether rather expensive, but eating out in the US has become expensive especially for Brits.
Great service! You don't go there for the Oysters. Charge me more and give me something that make me go Wow! Meet up with friends today and the same reaction on the Oysters. The food and place was great. Also get the Von Trapp Pilsner back! Second time the Keg was out in two months.
