Matt makes a fantastic sandwich. the made to order style is very nice. i like the music he plays. fairly priced and very accommodating. recommend to anyone who wants some good food.

Walked in this place Saturday morning , wasnât sure if they were open so asked the man working behind the counter if they were indeed openâŠ..he responded with âwas the door open? Is someone on the bar eating? Am I yelling at you?â Super akward ⊠(One customer eating that was conversating with the worker)âŠ.no menu , no information about food or prices. I ask for a menu he responded no menu what do you want? How do I know what I want if I donât know what they offer. He responded with the meats they offer and asked what meat I want âŠ..again donât know pricing. Donât know what kind of breadsâŠ..went in this place with the anticipation of ordering for myself and my girlfriend who was not there - walked out confused what they even offer. I assume it may be their off season and they may be closing soon? Very confused and unprofessional experience. Canât comment on the food because I donât know the style sandwich or quality.

Walked in around 5ish after a long day of hiking with my husband just hoping to get some good sandwiches based on the reviews. The bartender asked if we had reservations because itâs Saturday night, something about how we can wait outside in the cold for him to call us in. All the tables were emptyâŠduring off season and hardly anyone around on Main Street. So weird and petty.

I had a terrible experience at Barley Sandwich. The bartender was clearly intoxicated, which made the situation even worse. Not only was he rude and unprofessional, but his behavior was completely inappropriate for someone in his position. Itâs disappointing to see this kind of service when youâre just trying to enjoy a night out. I wonât be coming back and definitely wouldnât recommend this place to anyone looking for a respectful and enjoyable atmosphere.

If youâre looking for a very real, authentic experience, stop in and ask Matt (the owner) what heâs making that day. There is no set menu, and Matt will most certainly let you know thatâs all he has for that day ?.
The food is fantastic, and you can tell he has a passion for his craft and shop.
Eat in and shoot the sh*t with him while youâre there, Mattâs a super cool, very straightforward yet cool dude!

So Matt who runs this place is areal character ⊠but donât take him the wrong way ! He has no menu .. he makes it up as he goes .. and he is very direct , so when you walk in and he just says I only have chicken left , donât be scared , just roll with it and let him make you something amazing to eat .
Prices ? There are no prices ⊠lol but you will love the value and the food , trust me !
If youâre a sensitive soul , it might now be for you ⊠but if youâre ready when you go in and have never been before , try it ! I guarantee you will enjoy it , and have a great lunch !

Popped in here with my family while driving through Saranac Lake. No menu posted, just the question âdo you want turkey, fish, or some Italian thing?â We were NOT disappointed - the sandwiches were fantastic & the conversation was entertaining. Definitely not your average sandwich shop, but worth the trip! Weâll definitely be back!
The sandwiches are spectacular, great bread, great ingredients and perfectly located. The owner is the man. Says it like it is. If you're looking for candy coated fake compliments about your clothes and you're menu choices, this ain't it. He speaks the truth and is a stand-up dude. Go there for the food and straight talking, no BS.
