It’s good place to have breakfast at local restaurants. But one person handling all task. She need help
This is a gem! The owner does it all- literally. She cooks your meal, she serves you coffee, she rings you out and it’s the best place ever. Quintessential New York vibe, delicious food, great coffee- just stop here! Remember- Cash only and bring extra for a good tip. This owner and cafe deserves it.
Great breakfast place. Taste like home made. Rustic old school type ambiance is what I liked.
Stopped for breakfast Saturday with a near full house. Greeted and served, with a little humor, quickly. Food was plentiful, and very good. Price was reasonable, as prices go today. I have been here before and this is why I am here again. It is comfortable.
Great local diner! I believe the women who took care of us was almost the owner. Menu was good, not overwhelming, and prices were reasonable. Our food was fast, correct, and pretty good. Dining area was clean, very welcoming, and comfortable. Definitely kid & family friendly. We will definitely be back! **Will be closed (like many other places in town from April 11- April 24, 2022.**
One of the last true home cooked meals. And a place where "family" can remember what it was like to talk to each other over a meal together.
Been here 3 years ago and just got to go back today. Still an amazing mom & pop restaurant. Food is always good, coffee fresh and waitress friendly. Boyfriend and I said we may make it our normal breakfast Sunday. Highly suggest going!
REVIEW NOT ABOUT THE FOOD. We didn't get a chance to eat here because we were unaware that it's CASH ONLY. Just wanted to warn everyone. I never carry cash so it was an unpleasant surprise especially when the waitress asserted that the ATM was only down the street at the gas station. Ok....no thank you. Didn't want to give 1 star because it could be fantastic! Who knows. Just have cash. We ended up at Blue Moon Cafe instead which was phenomenal with amazing staff, too.
The best breakfast in Saranac Lake. It isn't big and isn't fancy, but the food is soooo good. I almost always get the scrambled mess, eggs scrambled with onions, peppers, bacon, & cheese, with home fries & toast. My hubbie often leans towards the specials, like the banana carmel french toast. I'm not a coffee girl (MTN dew is my go go juice & DJs has it ice cold), but everyone raves about it and the girls keep it flowing. If you are in Saranac Lake, this is a must stop for breakfast. It's been mine for 40 years.
On a Sunday morning an older couple was holding their own against the morning crowd. The waiter was my cook, She was kind / funny to us and the other customers. Coffee was fresh. Food was amazing. Left with a mere $20 bill, and a lasting impression. If your looking for a local spot with a mom & pop vibe, look no more... :)

Great place to stop and get some food after freezing all night camping in October. Great value for food and warm, family atmosphere. Even though staff was limited and it was a little busy, we got our breakfast pretty quick and were greeted fast.
Terrible experience here. Anyone should of been embarrassed to serve what they served us. I had 5 or 6 eggs on my plate when I ordered one order, over medium, and none of them were cooked correctly. It really looked disgusting, and I never leave reviews like this for places but it was that bad. We were also given one piece of bread for an order of toast, both my husband and I. I’ve never seen just one slice of bread called an order of toast before, anywhere. The homefries were barely cooked and unseasoned, the bacon was raw. It was the worst plate of food I’ve ever been served anywhere. To top it all off, the cook was outright rude about it and said “who cares, they got an extra egg.” They didn’t try to make anything right, that’s for sure. We still payed for a breakfast we barely touched.
Just what everyone is looking for. A small town diner with great food and service that doesn't cost you and arm and a leg. We will definitely be back.
Had a good experience here. Came at 10:15, waited five minutes as two groups of three were leaving. Western omlet was great. Definitely a locals place with limited seating. We had a friendly time during a quieter time. Thanks!
Great food everything is home made. Great prices. You should check this place out if you are staying in lake placid. It is worth the 10 minute drive!
