I am grateful to have an option like this in Saranac Lake, however it’s been constantly disappointing. They do oyster nights in September and we were choking on the shells because they were shucked so poorly. It’s overpriced and the menu has no rotation. Service has always been great but the food gets worse every time we go.

We had a lovely meal for three. I had the shrimp, seasonal vegetables served on tagliatelle. Wonderful flavors. Other meal was salmon on a fresh garden salad. Salmon was cooked to perfection. We didn’t have any alcohol - dinner for 3 was $120.00 including tip.

We had a really lovely meal here on new years. So there was live music and a really cozy festive atmosphere. I expected great country vibes but didn’t expect the food to be so elevated. What a gem of a place.
Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian options. And they made some custom modifications for me.

We have been long time happy customers at the Left Bank Cafe. It has been one of our go-to spots in Saranac Lake for many years. We can consider ourselves regulars when we are in town. We've never had a bad meal. Lovely location. Terrific food. Good service.
It's under new management now. The food is as good as ever. Went there two nights in a row. First night we had a delightful time, a delicious meal, paid our bill happily, and then made reservations for the next day because we had such a delightful time. Tonight, we had a delicious meal, good service, and then the bill came with something called an administrative charge. It had not been on the bill the previous night, so I inquired about what this was for, and was informed that the previous night's bill was incorrect and I should have been charged an administrative fee. I asked, "What is it for?" They didn't have an answer.
We will not be back. I owned a retail business for 25 years. I never thought of charging my customers an administrative fee over and above the price I was charging them for the goods that they were buying. The idea of charging an administrative fee on top of the food charges and gratuity is so off-putting that I will never ever be back. You lost a long time customer because of a 2.3% administrative fee on top of our bill. And on top of the gratuity. Shameful shameful shameful.
I hope you lose a lot of business for that because that's just stupid. All you're doing is padding the bill. Administrative charge at a restaurant? Are you freaking kidding me? So long, goodbye, I will happily spend my money elsewhere. All you need to do is raise your prices. An administrative fee for a dinner is insulting and an embarrassment to your establishment.
