It's shocking to say, but if you want Paris quality food in the Adirondacks, GO TO the Sunset Bistro! The margret du canard with grilled peaches was perfectly cooked and the peach added the perfect balance of flavor. The Sunset Bistro is a refreshing standout among the prevalent brew pub fair that abounds the ADK. I will not visit the area without a meal at the Sunset Bistro. Thank you Chef Vicky and her excellent Sous Chef!

If food could hug your soul, this would be it. We had the pleasure of trying the new menus and WOW. Started with the shrimp app, braised short rib and chicken entree, followed with strawberry crème brûlée and chocolate raspberry cake. Chef needs an award. thank you.

Our evening at Sunset Bistro was perfect. Our meals were delicious, the service was excellent and the setting was gorgeous. The chef has created a unique menu with many choices. They have an extensive wine selection and great cocktails. We are so happy to have another wonderful restaurant in Saranac Lake!

I had high hopes for Sunset Bistro, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. My brother, who lives in the area, was really excited about this place and made a reservation a week in advance, notifying the restaurant of his wife's allergies. When we arrived, no one asked about allergies, and it was clear the staff hadn't read the notes. We were told the chef might be able to accommodate, but that wasn’t possible given the short notice.
We ordered sparkling water but had to ask repeatedly for ice and a chiller. Then came the wait for the food—when it finally arrived, only my brother got his steak, which turned out to be for another table! He had to eat while we waited for our food. The mushroom medley and bread with dips were the highlights of the meal, but my salmon was dry and flavorless.
Throughout the evening, the restaurant made no attempt to fix any of the issues—missing allergies, the wrong dish being served, or the lack of service regarding the ice. For the price we paid, the experience just didn’t deliver. Not worth it.

This is a wonderful restaurant, with terrific food, a beautiful setting and a lot of heart. They are still working on having all the staff they need and so service was a bit slow, but I imagine they will get there. Highly recommend!!
Sunset Bistro is AMAZING! Delicious food, awesome chef. The setting is beautiful, lovely view of the lake. The service was so authentic with everyone we met. We will be back! A five stars plus!

This is a hidden gem. It is worth going out of your way. The portions are generous and the food is terrific. We had the night's special, dry rub ribs. My wife had the flank steak, which was cooked perfectly.
