We were super excited to check this place out tonight. Had a reservation at 7, got there a little early and was seated right away. Food was good, service was good. When our meals arrived,we ordered another round of drinks. We were almost finished with our meals so we cancelled our drinks. The server told the bartender to cancel our drinks to which he replied with a chuckle and stated "its thier loss". I have worked in restaraunts before and have been oveewhelmed at times but that was an unneccessary ending to our night. For that reason, we will never be back. I hope the bartender finds happiness in his life. Customer service is surely not for him.

We just ate dinner here, we’re told multiple times that the fryer was dedicated gluten free. (Husband is celiac) We ordered fried Brussel sprouts, and we each got the chicken. We spent 111$ on dinner( with tip) for a sub par meal and for us to call back to find out it is NOT dedicated GF and now my husband has been glutened. This is not the first time a restaurant in the area has not taken this seriously. The waiter was rude and annoyed when we asked to verify and we’re still told incorrectly. The hostess who answered the phone and notified us of this was incredibly apologetic and kind. We should have left immediately and we will not be back.

The food was good and the ambiance was pretty nice. However we had 2 major problems:1. Some liquid started leaking from the ceiling and barely missed us. It seemed like a pipe had burst.2. Our waitress forgot to send our order to the kitchen until we asked where our food was an hour later. This was especially annoying because we made it clear that we were hungry after a long day of skiing. We sat down at 7:30 and only got our appetizers at 9. Our waitress seemed to feel bad and offered to comp any new drinks we ordered but I was already done at that point

We were seated promptly and greeted by our server. I had the Italian Egg Drop Soup and it was delicious. My son had the Tuna and he wanted it rare. It was cooked perfectly to his liking. I had the 10 oz. Filet mignon and ordered it medium. Not only was the cook on both of our entrees spot on, but they were served on hot plates. My filet was delicious. My only complaint was that my water glass was not filled, a minor detail. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever staying in the Hunter Mt. area.

Amazing. WOW. We loved the food, the service, and the ambience. It was delicious without being pretentious - the ceviche had the perfect balance of heat and citrus, kale salad perfectly dressed and balanced with toasted squash, blue cheese and apple cider dressing, hubby had ahi and I had lamb - both were delish. Cocktails, after dinner drinks, and dessert were awesome. This is hands down the best place to eat in Saugerties!

We had the French onion soup and Korean meatballs as apps and the pork and vegan risotto as mains. Followed by the tiramisu. The soup was excellent, the meatballs were spicy and just missed the mark a little-not bad but not great. The pork was very dry and the mashed potatoes were under seasoned. The risotto was good. The tiramisu was very alcohol forward but we did eat it all. I would probably give them another try.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at the entrance.

We all thought the food was good, just a bit too expensive for what it was. One in our party complained that the twice cooked Pork Shoulder was a bit dry (odd considering both the process of braising and the amount of au jus on the plate). Another commented on the arugula salad as being unremarkable. My vodka drink was delightfully heavy on the pour. Service was a professional team effort, but the room was a bit cold (especially near the front windows) and the noise level could potentially become obtrusive were the room completely full.

Salt and Fire in Saugerties, NY, is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary adventure that promises to delight every sense. The moment you enter, you're greeted by a friendly and attentive staff, creating an inviting and warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The menu is a showcase of culinary brilliance, but the star attractions are undoubtedly the steak with purée and the artichoke appetizer. The steak is a masterpiece of flavor and texture, cooked to tender perfection and paired exquisitely with a creamy, flavorful purée. The artichoke appetizer is another triumph, offering a delightful mix of tastes that sets the tone for the exceptional meal to follow. But the dish that truly steals the show is the short rib burger. This isn't just any burger; it's a gastronomic experience in itself. The short rib is succulent and rich, bursting with deep, savory flavors that are perfectly balanced by the fresh, complementary ingredients. It's a must-try for any burger aficionado. And let's not forget the bar experience. The bartender at Salt and Fire is not just a mixologist but a magician, crafting drinks that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Each cocktail is a unique creation, showcasing an amazing blend of flavors that will leave you wanting more.In conclusion, Salt and Fire isn't just a dining destination; it's a journey into the heart of culinary excellence. With its standout dishes like the steak and purée, the artichoke appetizer, and the unforgettable short rib burger, combined with the friendly staff and amazing bartender, it's an experience that's not to be missed.

We enjoyed our time. The portions were more than I expected, which is a good surprise. Some minor critiques of which I can't help to mention. The Duck Confit Gnocchi was quite rich, having some of the Short Rib Papparelle helped balance the experience. The Short Rib Papparelle was perfect. I preferred the Spanish Citrus Creme Brulee to be firmer and a thinner layer of the caramel. The goat cheese croquettes were a great starter and so were the drinks. We will most definitely come back again to try the rest of the menu.
