I came to try the donuts, tried some extra snacks while I was there. Of the donuts the boston cream was the best, had a lot of filling and great dough texture. The glazed was very soft, but had an odd after taste, not sure if if they used a different dough. Then the apple cider was good, just slightly dry. The cannoli was shocking good, the shell was great and had really good structural integrity and didn't get soggy after sitting for awhile. The eclair Cake, was really good, reminded me of a radio bar from Bella Napoli, just w/o the marshmallow filling.

Sometimes in life, the universe throws you a curveball—like when the 70th birthday cake you ordered for your uncle from another bakery never shows up. Panic mode? Activated. And then, like a scene straight out of a Hallmark movie, I discovered The Meltaway Bakery in Saugerties, NY.
From the very first phone call, I knew this place was special. The employee I spoke with was the kind of person every bakery dreams of having at their counter: knowledgeable, kind, and so willing to help that I wanted to nominate her for sainthood. I explained my cake crisis, and she didn’t even flinch—she said, “We’ve got you.” And oh, did they ever. Within just a few hours, she had created a gorgeous, large chocolate cake filled with raspberry, frosted in silky chocolate buttercream, and decorated with a “Happy 70th Birthday” message worthy of a family celebration. Crisis averted. Hero status unlocked.
But of course, when you walk into a bakery that smells like sugar, butter, and happiness itself, you don’t leave with just a cake. No, no, no. You leave with a box of everything.

Pure sunshine in dessert form. A golden, buttery crust with lemon curd so perfectly balanced between tart and sweet that I half expected angels to descend when I took my first bite.

I wanted to order a Boston Cream Pie for my brother's birthday & I wasn't sure of where to go, so I googled bakeries near me. The Meltaway Bakery was my first and last stop! I bought a few cupcakes, Oreo balls, lemon bars and mini key lime pies to sample and I knew right then that I had found the place!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the cake, it was perfect!!! The quality of the pastries were also perfect, the owners are very nice, the prices are reasonable (almost LOW for what you are getting!!!) and I will be going back ASAP! If you were open today, I would be there right now!

I wanted to find a bakery on my way home from my haircut appointment in Saugerties. My google search came up with this lovely bakery that was actually open on a Wednesday. It’s a small place yet light and airy inside. There’s no seating inside though. The many pastries looked delicious so I ordered every lemon flavored pastry they had as well as gigantic cream puff. Everything was so tasty and lovingly made. The service was also friendly and warm. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

My sister lives here and this is one of her favorite bakeries. We loved the Italian cookies and the wide variety of baked goods.
I need to shout from the rooftops about how amazing Meltaway is. My best friends went to them to get a surprise burn away cake for our engagement. They had never done one and don’t usually do picture cakes, but said “Let’s do it.” So my best friend supplied them with the edible pictures and they made their dreams reality, and it was PERFECT! Even if the burn away didn’t work, they were willing to try whatever and made the most delicious cake! They were absolutely incredible to work with (always are, as we frequent Meltaway for incredible cakes and pastries). They even gave them an entire piping bag of icing in case they needed to fix or edit the cake with the pictures once they brought it home! It just shows the love and care they put into everything they do. THANK YOU MELTAWAY! Also yes, I said yes ?❤️
