It's a walk in bakery...it's clean with a smile and great pastries. Had some smores donuts that were super delicious. Looking forward to more.

I wanted to find a bakery on my way home from my haircut appointment in Saugerties. My google search came up with this lovely bakery that was actually open on a Wednesday. It’s a small place yet light and airy inside. There’s no seating inside though. The many pastries looked delicious so I ordered every lemon flavored pastry they had as well as gigantic cream puff. Everything was so tasty and lovingly made. The service was also friendly and warm. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

I need to shout from the rooftops about how amazing Meltaway is. My best friends went to them to get a surprise burn away cake for our engagement. They had never done one and don’t usually do picture cakes, but said “Let’s do it.” So my best friend supplied them with the edible pictures and they made their dreams reality, and it was PERFECT! Even if the burn away didn’t work, they were willing to try whatever and made the most delicious cake! They were absolutely incredible to work with (always are, as we frequent Meltaway for incredible cakes and pastries). They even gave them an entire piping bag of icing in case they needed to fix or edit the cake with the pictures once they brought it home! It just shows the love and care they put into everything they do. THANK YOU MELTAWAY! Also yes, I said yes ?❤️

There is a reason that this is a award-winning bakery! Their baked goods are deliciously unmatched and the staff are always super friendly! And in response to “June” who complained about them being on vacation - you clearly have no comprehension of what goes into running a bakery like this. I do, because I worked at one for 7 years. The owner and baker of The Meltaway is a skilled Culinary Institute graduate that works 16 hour days during the holidays. His wife works a full time job in addition to running the bakery. By New Year’s Day they need to REST for a short break. It’s hard to imagine that you needed a baked good SO badly that you’d leave such a scathing review and furthermore, that you would rely solely on Google for their operating hours. So silly. Anyway, 5 star review for this repeat customer! You all must try this place!

They went on vacation and never updated the status on Google or mentioned it on their web site. The two signs on the road out front also say "open". I showed up to find a note on the door. Then I called the number, heard that they are taking orders for NYear's Eve weekend.....this is on Jan are 4 and THEN I find out they are on vacation. Google tells customers they are closed and will open on Friday the 5th at 7am. They will not. Get it together. They just lost an annoyed customer who expects a business to conduct itself like a business.

Let me start with a small "negative"... their hours are a little limited and their variety altho beautiful is also a little limited compared to places like Deisings. That said... I understand this place is smaller, brand new, and I'm sure will expand given their quality. Positives? Their customer service is supreme. Their products are top notch. Location is convenient. Prices reasonable. Store is clean. They are A+ across the board. I look forward to watching them grow... and I believe they will.
