We enjoyed our dinner at Aperiti on a friday evening after work. The restaurant is small and cozy and very well suited for a cold winter night. The service staff were very young and provided attentive service. We shared appetizers including the eggplant and Pera salad both delicious! The Margarita pizza was excellent.. crispy, tasty crust, marvelous sauce with just the right amount of cheese. As anticipated the mussels were large and tender.. swimming in a wonderfully flavored sauce, great for dipping the toasted bread. And the pear salad was delicious.. I wasn't sure how the flavors would blend, but the chef made it happen, 5 stars across the board
This is a classic Italian restaurant. Years ago in NYC there were many small restaurants on side streets that had excellent food. Very few of those survive. But Aperiti is heir to that tradition. We just came back from three weeks in Italy and Aperiti is as good as any of the restaurants that we experienced in Rome. Maybe even better.
