One of the best meals I've ever had! The food and atmosphere were fantastic. I ordered the chicken and my gf got the lamb. We couldnt decide which one was better =). Cocktails were great too. Really cool specials for apps and dessert. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area. We will definitely be comming back.

This is a new low for deplorable service. 2 waiters, 1 busboy, 2 hosts for three total tables for the first 45 minutes of our stay. 30 minutes to get a drink; 50 minutes to receive appetizers which were jumbled and 90 minutes before the entrees came. Burger was weirdly seasoned and inedible. Mussels overcooked; marginal croque madam. Oh and yes, we have had raclette before...New groups who came in 45-60 minutes after us received their entrees 20 minutes before we did...icing on the cake was our waiter (was he though?) asking us if we were ready for coffee and dessert before our entrees arrived. And then our waiter put on his coat and left the restaurant. Wow. Appalling. To their credit the other waiter and bus boy tried to cover but it was too late. Only saving grace were the two amazing jazz musicians playing during "brunch".

Me and my mother came here for lunch and had the Omelette du jour with a cappuccino. It was delicious and our server was really nice. In addition, the ambience and music is very comforting, a great place to take a break and enjoy a excellent meal.

We went there for an Easter buffet and everything is above and beyond the expectations. Salmon, lamb leg and prime ribs roast are all very well executed, which I would never expect them as buffet food. Pastry was freshly made and not too sweet. Kids all got Easter eggs. Overall very pleasant experience!

We enjoy this little bistro and have been there 3 times and plan to take a friend for lunch tomorrow where they offer a prix-fixe lunch menu which is a bargain and delicious. They have several choices including personal favorite , wonderful moules frites and excellent salad. I enjoy steak tartare, rarely available, and plan to try it soon. For dessert, we enjoy the chocolate mousse scooped out of a large bowl onto your plate....very flavorful with just the right amount of richness. I might give the food 5 stars except for the American (regular) coffee which is awful. They seem to take espresso and dilute it to their idea of what we call coffee.....it doesn't work. Same for the ambiance where there is a tendency to play music at an uncomfortable level which, to their credit, they were willing to turn way down at our request. I feel I must mention those two negatives but overall, a very good experience in a casual bistro setting. Try it!

Excellent place to take my wife to eat for her birthday. The food is delicious. Our waiter did make a mistake with our order, but the food and service were so excellent that it didn't matter.

It was absolutely delicious!! We had the cauliflower and beets appetizers which so tasty, such a beautiful combination of flavors. For the main dish, we had the cabbage main dish and the steak. Every bite was perfectly seasoned. Truly at the level of a NYC restaurant. Such a lovely atmosphere and wonderful service too. And we really lovedthe chocolate mousse at the end!

I wanted to visit Bistro de Ville a handful of times before writing a review. Here are my thoughts: Overall: Yes, you should definitely try the place. I'd love to see it become a long-term staple in the area. We need a place like this. Between us, we've had the following one or more times: Caesar salad, cauliflower (really excellent), tuna tartare, shellfish, duck, chicken, cod, burger, steak frites, and bourguignon. Overall, strong showing for each. In addition, some kudos on the beer list. It could definitely have more names on it, but they tried to make it interesting and that's always appreciated. Constructive Criticism: 1) A French bistro MUST, MUST, MUST, have a French onion soup on the menu, year-round. It is the epitome of French comfort food and people expect to see it in a bistro. It's not haut cuisine. Done correctly, it could be the thing a restaurant is known for. Plenty of crusty cheese on top, with a rich, hearty broth. 2. Cocktails are well made, but the pour is consistently light. You make plenty of money on the booze and giving a bit more of a generous pour isn't going to kill you. I don't know how many ounces you're pouring and I'm sure you'll say its the "right amount", but it's light. 3. The wine by the glass list is a bit lacking, but getting past that, more problematically, the wine is too warm. Red wine, of course, should be slightly chilled. While wine temperature is often a problem in restaurants, a French bistro needs to get this right. 4. The bourguignon lacks of a bit of seasoning. Easy remedied. 5. Seating: Chairs are a bit uncomfortable and too high for the table. Banquette is bit too soft and too low for the table. Not an easy problem to fix economically, but something to think about over the long term. 6. Tables are not properly set. Utensils, glasses, napkins, should all be in their proper place. In addition, the tables are a bit too small and congested, even by bistro standards. I hate when a table is so tight that everything delivered requires a Tetris like exercise to make it fit on the table. 7. At night the lights outside are a bit too bright and kill some of the ambiance. It's particularly problematic when people pull into the space in front of the restaurant and point their headlights into the place. Perhaps some bushes or screening of some sort? 8. The service was mixed the various times I went. Overall good, so not a real knock, but should be a bit more consistently attentive.

Everything was fine. Much appreciated! The background music was loud and not soothing to the appetite. Tables were tight together requiring moving three people in order to cross to the restroom. (although, tight space is acceptable, with a good restaurant in a small room)Parking: Street meters and lots of businesses that have space but wouldn't want to park in their small fronts.

I've been really wanting to try this restaurant, as I frequent Farmer & the Fish Purdys. Had a colleague meet me here from NYC- we both traveled to try Bistro Deville. We had a reservation. Waited an hour at the bar to be told we couldn't get our table and they don't know when they could give us one. The host did not come to explain the situation to us at all- he told the bartender to offer us a small high top in the bar room or choice to eat at the bar, which is not what we wanted. We had a dining room reservation at 8:00. It was now 5 minutes to 9:00. We would've stayed if the host wasn't super rude when I went to him and asked why he couldn't honor our reservation. There was an avoidance of the question, an extremely off putting/unwelcoming attitude and he told us that he would, comp our drinks, "if that's what we were looking for", and walked away. So unprofessional. So rude. We felt confused and beyond disgusted by that comment, as we were just, "looking for", our reserved table!! (And if you have to cancel you're charged). I paid our bar bill plus tip, (fully expected to), and left after that. Very disappointed, we really wanted to catch up over good food and wine and thought this was the place. Unfortunately your host last night was particularly offensive. The bartender was nice though.

Highly touted by friends. Dined last night and it was just OK. Drinks: All are Priced at $15 to $18, but Lillet, I received a 2 oz shot ( as liquor), whilee this is wine. I probably paid for the entire bottle for 2 oz of wine. Food: The onion soup was thin and not too flavorful with a very chewy cheese. The burgers, although supposedly rare, were more like medium, but very dry, not juicy at all. The duck was just OK m with the confit very salty. The biggest objection was the 3% added amount to the bill for "kitchen staff". Why don't they just raise the prices?. Next, we will get a surcharge for health insurance or some other items. this is a cost of doing business. I can understand a surcharge for credit cards vs cash. Nobody pays cash anymore.

Intimate real Parisian style Bistro with a lovely menu to go with it; service is friendly and unassuming & we met Chef Kurt, who was great and very enthusiastic...there is a young vibe , and an authentic feeling about his place and the food was Delicious and carefully prepared and presented...the Clafouti dessert is a must!

I had the best experience possible here for drinks and dinner in December. The food was amazing, and i enjoyed cheese platter, salad and steak, washed down with great white and red wines.

Came for brunch and had a great experience. They have live music every Sunday, and the duo playing was excellent and really added to the French bistro ambiance. Our food was delicious - would highly recommend the cauliflower appetizer and burger. We will be back to try their dinner menu soon!
