I used to visit civitello's in little Italy when I was in schenectady. As a good italian, I would visit Porecca's across the street. I usually get some tomato pie and other things at Porecca's but I also would cross the street and get some tomato pie at Civitello's. I really enjoyed it. I really hope Civitello's reopens. Molto bene . I see Civitello's has reopened , I must visit soon .
So cool to have this timeless gem refurbished and still creating the food classics of the past which are still as delicious! Tomato pie, eggplant sandwich and chocolate eclair did not disappoint!
Lovely patio to enjoy delicious spumoni and if you can decide, a few cookies, too. The tomato pie had a crisp flaky crust that I liked with a touch of fresh garlic in the sauce. Incredible pastry.
