The Four Course Menu caught our eye. Our first time here, very impressed with every selection!! Our Waitperson was efficient & engaging as well. I’m coming back if it’s just for the (fried oysters) Excellent!! Highly recommended

I had dinner at Grano in Albany and opted for their 4-course menu. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The highlight for me was the tomato soup—rich, flavorful, and comforting—and the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The pasta course was also good, and the appetizers set the tone beautifully. The service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly, making the entire experience feel warm and welcoming. Highly recommend Grano if you're looking for a good meal in Albany.

great place in downtown Schenectady. Fantastic fresh baked bread, and homemade pastas (non egg noodle).
Our server was very personable, friendly and good.
My first time in this restaurant, but not my last.

Went for restaurant week. Excellent!

Best restaurant week menu in the capital district. Haven't eaten this well for 30/person in at least 10 years.

Loved the atmosphere and the food was ok but everything was very salty. So salty I don’t think I can return. Salad lettuce was wilted and not fresh.

We had a group of 6 celebrating 2 anniversaries and were told Grano was a special place. First and foremost when we walked in, I was carrying flowers for the couples and the older gentleman at the front desk checking us in asked if they were for him. He was a delight! When we were sat, someone immediately came to fill water glasses and our drink orders were taken quickly. Our waitress, Shelby, was super kind and attentive and checked on us the perfect amount of frequently when we needed something.

The food was amazing! I got the chicken francaise and the bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta wasn't what I was expecting, it was a sample of 3 pieces total of 3 different types of bruschetta, each of which was tasty but somewhat unexpected. The chicken francaise was breaded and sauced perfectly. We also ordered dessert and the tiramisu, banana cream pie, and pumpkin cheesecake was excellent.

The total bill was just over $300 for 6 people. 5 of us ordered their special 4 course meal, I was the only one who ordered off the regular menu.

The only bad I noted throughout the night was that it was very loud. We went on a Wednesday night at 6pm and they quickly filled the front room and it was very loud. Not enough to cause a headache but enough that we all had to lean in to hear each other.

Grano in Schenectady is a hidden gem for anyone who appreciates fresh, high-quality Italian cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm, modern ambiance and the welcoming atmosphere. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations from the menu.

The star of the show here is undeniably the fresh pasta. I tried their Pappardelle Bolognese, and it was outstanding—the pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was rich and flavorful with just the right balance of ingredients. Every bite tasted homemade and authentic, a true reflection of Italian cooking at its finest.

The appetizers are also a highlight. I had the burrata, which was creamy, fresh, and paired with a flavorful olive oil and crusty bread that was impossible to resist. The fried calamari was perfectly crisp and tender, served with a tangy marinara that made it even better.

For dessert, I couldn’t pass up the Tiramisu, and it didn’t disappoint. Light, airy, and just sweet enough, it was the perfect way to end the meal.

Grano is a must-visit if you’re in the Schenectady area and looking for authentic Italian dishes made with care and fresh ingredients. I will definitely be back!

The good & bad at Grano.

Well let’s start with some good things, it’s in a great location. Downtown right next to Proctors, if you’re going to a show all you have to do is walk a few steps to the theater. Also the location itself is very nice. Large dining room, very nice bar, when it’s nice outside they open the doors in front to enjoy the nice weather. They also have a lot of space for private events, I’ve been to several and it’s always a great time.

Now for the bad, we ordered “The Meatballs” appetizer, comes with ricotta and crispy bread. The good thing about it was the classic red sauce was good. The bad was the meatballs themselves. I can honestly say they were maybe the worst meatballs I’ve ever had. I’m used to meatballs you break apart with a fork, with these your fork bounced back like a rubber ball. I could barely cut into them with the butter knife, I almost asked for a steak or bread knife. Then when you eat them, afterwards you’re spitting out little pieces of parsley like popcorn kernels, all stuck in your teeth. Not to pile on, but the “crispy bread” was so salty it was hard to eat.

The good/bad continues with the entrees. First the good, the Chicken Francese was very good, and they use homemade pasta and you can taste the difference. The bad was the Rigatoni in Vodka Sauce. Most vodka sauce have that orange kind of color to it, this one was all white, like they put way too much cream when making it. After a few bites I felt bloated immediately.

All in all its a nice atmosphere, I’d go back, the service was very good, our waitress Jilly was amazing. If I do go back I’d just stick to red sauce or try the NY Steak, they offer it at an excellent price.

Went there with 5 others tonight. Food and service were outstanding! Try the Braciola and the peanut butter pie for dessert. Busy with the proctors crowd but the staff didn’t miss a beat. Timing on food and drinks was perfect.

We have gone to Grano many, many times. Sometimes for date night, other time in large groups and have NEVER had a bad meal! The service is also consistently excellent. The Utica Greens are a must try!
