My favorite restaurant in Schenectady. The food is exceptional. The service is either incredible or unreliable; there is no in-between.Kid-friendliness: They brought out about 412 baskets of fresh bread for the four teenagers at our table.

A little noisy. Convenient location for Proctors goers for sure. Right next to it!Parking: Free on weekend!
First time here, attending a special event with about 40 family members and everything was great. The service staff were professional, polite, friendly, attentive and accommodated the few extra requests we had. The buffet included salmon, salad, eggplant parm, sausage and peppers, green beans, chicken and pasta....all were really delicious, especially the Utica Greens. Overall, everyone was very pleased with the experience at "grano".I highly recommend giving it a try!

I visit this restaurant everytime I am in town for work. It has high quality foods and staff are super nice. The atmosphere is good and price is very reasonable for the quality and portion of food.

Very sad.Our Meetup group Film Fans (we have over 3000 members!) has visited Granos several times because we often attend movies at Proctors next door). When this location was Aperitivo (as the mosaic on their steps still says - too expensive to remove, huh?), we always loved it.But as Grano's it got so much worse! On an a previous group visit we were late to our show because the two small plate orders were NOT delivered at all!Our last - emphasis on last! - visit was on March 6. There were 8 of us. We had a reservation for 5 o'clock with our show at 7.At 5 the place was almost empty. Our waitress Ari even remembered seeing our group previously. The service was horrible! Whether it was the wait staff or the kitchen, but they ended up delivering food only around 6:15!Those of us who ordered "small plates" specifically to avoid along wait, were served last, AFTER the 4-course dinners! When I placed my order, I told Ari to please, give me the side of pasta to go.Nevetthekess, the pasta was delivered plated. I asked to have it to go. The dish was removed and NEVER showed up at all!Our group ended up late for the showBut worst of all, we were charged close to $50 OVER!!!!Several subsequent emails and calls to Granos have not produced any response!DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!!!!

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our meal here! The pasta nachos were absolutely delicious. The home made bread I could eat it all day with the home made butter. Delicious home made salad dressings along with home made pasta too. Server was delightful!
The food is great! It is difficult to find truly tasty food in the capital region but Grano is great. We came here to scout a birthday party location and were impressed with food drinks and vine. They have a nice banquet room for up to 40 people and we had a great time. Our sever Gill was wonderful. You need to communicate with Karen about scheduling party and that is difficult: she doesn’t know much about the restaurant, but if you press her to ask and speak to servers who know restaurant you will have a great party. Best: Italian nachos.

What an awful service! Poor management and customer service. Dining service not worth it. You will be late for the show! It’s the one of the worst experience I had.We had a reservation at 5:30 PM, server asked and we made sure we get out on time for 7:30 PM show. We had our drinks and finished the appetizers in 20 min and waited for our entrees. It was around 6:30 PM, I asked the server for the status for our food and was told it was coming. It was 7 PM, I got up to use the restroom and saw 70% of the people were gone who were at the front of the restaurant at this time. I ran into the man who seemed to be the manager or the owner who is there most of the time. I shared that we have to go to the show and our food didn’t come out. He just listened and didn’t care and walked away.It was 7:07 PM, I found our server and said it is getting late. She said that we are next and it’s coming. The food finally came out at 7:13 PM. We took one bite and had to pack up our food and leave. We paid our bill and had to run out.No apologies from the manager!

Not only does Grano have amazing food, but their customer service is also fantastic! I went there recently before a show at Proctors, and unfortunately the kitchen was a little behind, and we did not have enough time to eat. When leaving Proctors, our server was waiting outside the theater to give us our food to take home. They really went above and beyond. I will definitely be going back soon!
It was a very busy night with a show at Proctors. The staff and kitchen handled it as well as possible. We will go back when it's not quite as busy.
