First time back since you reopened, great food, great service , great beer selection !
Good neighborhood bar vibe with friendly staff.
Taco Tuesday was pretty good. The service was excellent and the overall vibe of this place is great.
Make sure you see the bearded wonder for a drink and grab some wings while you are there. Can't wait to try the flat bread next time.
In town for a little bit just was driving by and saw New York rangers flying out front. I'm a rangers fan and the game was on at 7:00. I went in there at 6:30 sat at the bar bartender put on the anger game and was very attentive. Great service. I didn't ask his name but he handled the whole bar. Good people. No craziness. Ordered a Heineken onion rings which both were fantastic. Look I'm mostly interested in good servers and someone that's smiling and that's what I got. The bar stools were far enough apart where you weren't hitting shoulders or elbows with other people who's good nice hometown bar. I miss it. I live in Scottsdale most of the year and everything's a free-for-all. I don't care what bar you're in
Anyways, I can't say
Today I have The Horses Lounge
I went in to order. Was greeted as soon as I walked in, the lounge was clean and tidy.
I Ordered lemon pepper wings, with corn nuggets
Wings were perfectly seasoned, and crispy. And the nuggets were good. Nice and sweet inside crispy coating out.
The food was really good
They had light music playing but it wasn’t overly loud where you can’t hear anybody.
Was a nice lil vibe with really good food. 🙃

Reasonably priced food and drinks. Small local pub with a neighborhood feel.

The wings were perfect! They had a great deal until 3:30 12 wings 2 beers 20 bucks. I asked for my wings medium and garlic parm tossed together, these were some of the best I have had in the area recently. Will definitely be coming back to try the burger deal (also 20 with 2 beers until 3:30).
Parking: They are working on parking but currently street spots or walk over from Price Chopper.

Wanted to try something new and this seems like a neighborhood gem. If we lived nearby we'd come by all the time. Simple menu with lots of ways to make things your own.
Kid-friendliness: Server was great at accommodating our four year old - made us a Shirley Temple and provided a small cup of water for her paint by number book.

Great food at a fair price. The service was great as well. I'm so happy they reopened. The wings were the best I have had in years.

The patio out front is really nice! They have four tables with umbrellas and the chairs are comfortable. We were happy to learn that dogs are allowed on the patio.
Service was friendly and helpful. It was our waitress’s first day and she did well answering our questions, what she didn’t know, she went inside and returned with an answer.
Food was okay. We started with the broccoli cheese bites. They were served with blue cheese and quite good.
Ordered a Greek salad. Veggies were fresh, dressing was very good. Croutons were hard and greasy.
We ordered a dozen wings and were happy to find out we could split the dozen and get two flavors. My husband got the garlic parm and I got the PB & J. Both flavors were very good, but the wings were over fried. The texture of the wings were just off for me, they were hard and chewy.
Some of the fried foods were over fried. Maybe this changes by who is in charge of the fryer…not sure we’ll be back to find out.

I have had many a meal and drinks at the original Horse's Lounge, so when it was reopened with a goal of continuity, I made a point to stop in one night for dinner. On the plus side, it's very clean. The old joint had a bit of a "dive-y" feel to it, probably due to the pool table. Alas the pool table is gone now, replaced with tables. I miss the pool table. It lent an air of "neighborhood joint/workingman's bar" that the new Horse's lacks, so far. Maybe in time the interior will get a little scruffy around the edges and develop a sort of patina of age. And I hope at least some of the other regulars will come back.
The menu features wings, burgers, foot-long hot dogs, and flatbreads and will look familiar to anyone who has been to the sister restaurant, the Broken Inn in Niskayuna. There is an incredible range of options available for these entrees: sauces, cheeses, veggies, meats, and dressings. There must be thousands of different ways to put them together. Totally customizable. Prices are reasonable, too. Bring cash or an ATM card, cause credit cards are not a thing here. Service was attentive, accurate, and upbeat. In fact it was my server's first shift, ever, at the Horse's but she handled herself like an old pro. The walls are decorated with framed photos of Schenectady in the days when it was the OG industrial powerhouse.
The old Horse's had a regular series of specials, like Burger Monday, when burgers were half price during happy hour, and Taco Tuesday where little street tacos were 3 for $6. I am glad to see that the new owner has brought back taco Tuesday. I'm going to have to go and check it out. I don't expect the old prices, because that was pre-Covid and before suppliers realized they could get away with sticking it, pricewise, to restaurant owners. Note to the owner: please put micheladas on the drinks menu on Taco Tuesday! Nothing goes down better with tacos on a hot summer night than an ice-cold, spicy michelada. It was unknown at the old Horses' but it's a Mexican standard.
The only complaint I have is that my foot-long dog came on a six inch roll. I had dog sticking out a couple three inches at both ends, which made things messy since I had asked for sauerkraut and chopped onions on mine! I wanted each bite of the dog to have the condiments with it, but they did not balance well on the naked dog ends. Come on! It's not hard to get a roll the same length as the dog! Today I walked by the Broken Inn and they had their hot dog cart operating on the sidewalk....but wait a minute! Same deal! Standard sized rolls with foot-longs! It's not cute. It's not quirky. It's just irritating and looks silly.
I want to try their whole hawg dog from the cart, but I'm gonna insist that cut it into two pieces and put each one in a roll! Only way to keep the add-ons on! Get longer rolls! Please.

Really happy to have checked out this neighborhood bar.
Jason was charismatic and friendly and provided great service. The wings were crisp and very good. The blue cheese is unique and very good.
Was really looking forward to this place reopening and it did not disappoint. It really does have a nice neighborhood bar feel and I really had a great time and can't wait to go back.
