I had the veal cutlet with linguine and chocolate cream pie - the best! I love how fresh the sauce on the pasta tastes, while the pie was my absolute favorite! Hope to come here again soon!
I was a little thrown off when we pulled up to this place and even more but tye locals quickly brought us up to speed and about wonderful restaurant that has been on business over 50 years. Service was fast, waitresses were wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious the Shrimp Fra Diablo is . We will be back!
I read a review about the service being slow. I wouldn't necessarily count that as a bad thing. The food is made fresh to order. The service is very attentive and free amount of money pay for the amount of food you get. Considering the quality of the food. There is no comparison really in the area. ?
Kid-friendliness: Very accounting of my toddler.
My first time in Schenectady, this place has amazing reviews. It looks like is in an odd place, until you get there.Really great atmosphere, old school New York, and the staff was more than accommodating. The food was good, 1 out of 3 was amazing, the other two were good but didn't match the reviews.I will go back because of the people and the atmosphere.I suggest you you try this place.Enjoy.
I enjoyed everything regarding the meal. The food was well made and was delicious especially the clams casino. The limoncello cake turned out to be homemade by the owners wife. It's that kind of old school proper place and you won't be disappointed. Bonus points to them because I went by myself and they weren't even really fazed by it despite it being 630 on a Saturday night. I've had plenty of other places make me feel uncomfortable showing up to eat by myself but this place welcomed me warmly.
Had the broiled haddock in lemon butter wine sauce...large portion of fish...very good...also asparagus and roasted red potatoes
Wheelchair accessibility: There's dome tight spots bit every thing is accessible
Great experience at Riccitello's. The staff is very friendly and the food is exceptional. I had the Chicken Parm that I thought was one of the best I ever had. Companion had the Ziti with marinara sauce that was pretty good. The salads were a spring mix with tomatoes that were very fresh and very tasty. Reservations highly recommended. We got lucky because we got there right after they opened at 5pm and was able to get a table.
Best Italian food in area! Recommend highly.
Must try. Food is top shelf. Excellent service.
Had a fantastic meal there! Everyone got something different. Chicken parm, breaded pork cutlet on garlic broccoli rabe, cheese and spinach ravioli with vodka sauce, fra diavolo, and cavetelli with homemade sausage. For apps, we got the stuffed squash blossoms, and soup, salad, and bread. Awesome!!! Excellent sauce too!

Food was fantastic, place was very crowded when we got there, asked if we mind sitting at the bar but it was going to take a while to get dinner. We sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed conversing with Lou and some regulars. When are dinners came out they were very good.
My cousin had his wife's birthday party which was a surprise to her close friends and family the food was superb the appetizers were superb the drinks are okay little pricey other than that what a great place to go and hang out
This is our absolute favorite Italian restaurant in the area, and there is a lot of great competition! Anna, Lou, and all the staff are so welcoming - it's like we're visiting family! The chicken parmesan is incredible and the eggplant parmesan it’s the best I've ever had anywhere! (although this latest time it was a little spicy) Each dish comes with soup or salad - I highly recommend the salad with homemade bleu cheese dressing. For dessert, be sure to grab a slice of chocolate cream pie before they are gone! It really is a wonderful experience every time. (Visited 6/17/18, 6/29/18, 6/18/22, and many more times!)
This was our first visit to John Riccitellos Restautprant in Schenectady. We were very impressed with the food. We had lasagna, and eggplant parm as our main entrees. They were delicious and large portions. The dressing on the salad were all homemade. We ended up with a Baileys Cheesecake.which was amazing. The wait staff could not have been any more attentive and nice. We would recommend this restaurant.
Awesome experience. Food was out of this world. Waitress and the rest of the staff was so nice.
