Photo is of a meal that was already half eaten. Hands down BEST food I’ve had in the area! This was duck breast and it literally brought tears to my eyes. So so so good! Small place with limited seating makes for a great intimate setting. I’m still here and I already can’t wait to come back
Absolutely love the brunch! This is a very special place for me. My very first experience was when my wife threw me a surprise 60th bday party. What a perfect night! We decided to drop in for Sunday brunch last week and we were not disappointed. The gluten free bread they came with my eggs Benedict was excellent. My wife enjoyed her eggs overeasy with bacon. We both had Expresso drinks they were delicious and enjoyed a very tasty Pavlova (hazelnut spread, hot chocolate sauce & ice cream).5 enthusiastic ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After a great Hamilton performance, we were expecting a great meal.. 6 guests. Ran out of entrées Ran out of desserts Left us with just water for over an hour. Server was very nice..not his fault. Lost or reservation.. Meal was incomplete from menu description. No apologies... Very bad experience... Expections not met!
Malcolms was HOPPING on a Sunday evening- make reservations, and arrive a few minutes early! A local friend recommended it, and we were not disappointed. We were seated upstairs and there was only one poor server (perhaps because of the anomaly of being open on a Sunday night). He worked his tail off, but understandably things were a bit slow. He did ask if we were going to see a show (we were) so I think he expedited things for a us a bit. The food was beautifully presented, tasty, unique and upscale. "Small plate" is very accurate. Cauliflower was delish, falafel ok, salmon terrific, cake "meh" at best, but the wine was great. My son and I shared an entree, had two snacks, and a drink each for just over $100. The chef and staff were attentive, asking if we had allergies or food restrictions. We overheard the server tell our neighbor who didn't eat her steak that the chef offered to take it off the bill. Atmosphere was handsome, staff is friendly, location is nice (right by Union College, ten minute walk to proctors), ample parking in the street and behind the restaurant. I could have done without the pop music thumping in the background under the happy bustling noise of the guests (but now I'm showing my age).
I sadly did not really enjoy my visit. For the following reasons..A they had you sitting right next to others not in your party, yet the place was mostly empty.B the food was just ok and I'm no duck expert but what I got and also the gf got was raw in the middle. Is it supposed to be that way?C I'm sorry but.nothing was really that goodD service was good so that's a plus.E I want an actual menu not a qr code thing.
Delicious food. Went for brunch and had fried cauliflower appetizer. Anchovy aioli is surprisingly good. Biscuits and gravy was so flavorful. Poached eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband got steak and eggs which was cooked perfectly and he enjoyed that as well. The atmosphere is quaint and unique. Chef and staff very friendly. Definitely recommend.

Myself and a fellow chef and friend of mine came for brunch this Sunday and HOW CUTE! The chef/owner was there and invested in every dish. The kitchen is open and you can see how your dish comes together. The owner came to the table to check out enjoyable all our dishes were, very cute and intimate downstairs with more seating noted upstairs. Food was perfect, and 10/10 recommend the beet margarita, so refreshing. Highly recommend checking out, well worth it. Will definitely be back to try out lunch and dinner because brunch is A MUST!
Went here for NYE dinner. Our reservations were for 530. By 730 we had only had 2 courses out of the 5 courses. Not sure if it was a kitchen or staff issue but a lot of people were not happy that night. A few people near us also left without eating(they never got a bill). The two courses we did receive weren't all that amazing. We were also surprised to receive a bill for our drink after this whole situation happened and the chef saying it would be comped but that is fine. We were in the back room upstairs so it felt as if we were forgotten. The person we saw the most was the women refilling waters. We will not be going back. We left starving. The table (largest group there) behind us also complained about the time it took but they received their whole meal (took 2 hrs as well). The chef also came out said they could leave now, saying if they think he should close than maybe he should. Also said everything loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. Their whole bill was comped.Very disappointed.
I had the Big Mac Arevey. OMG the most flavorful thing I've eaten in a very long time. The smokey flavor of the home smoked bacon and beef patty was beyond compare. Our waitress ( Mia )was a marvelous complement to the fair. Cheery, attentive, and knowledgeable about the offerings.
This is THE place to eat in Schenectady. Nate, the owner, is super hands on. You'll find him in the kitchen, welcoming customers, and checking individually on each table to make sure their food is exactly what they came for. This is high end quality, beautifully crafted eats and drinks. Locally sourced and creatively mouth-watering dishes. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else.

Too many good things to say about Malcom’s. They went above and beyond with my allergy. They also provided some of the best fine dining food I’ve had. Each dish was well thought out. I look forward to being a regular here!!
This is a hidden gem in Schenectady. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The wait staff was efficient and pleasant. Our food was delivered by the chef, and he checked back to make sure we were enjoying it. You really should give them a try next time you’re wondering where to go for dinner.
First time here! Absolutely amazing meal. We ordered the price fix meals and the portions were perfect! The variety of flavors were incredible. The Brussels sprouts were cooked to perfection and exploding with favor. The Espresso Martini had a hint of different flavors that made it delicious! The duck and sweet potatoes were beyond tasty! The staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend checking it out! Can’t wait to go back ??
I had a lovely solo dinner on Sunday at Malcom’s while on a business trip. I sat at the bar, and the service was great. As a first timer there, they were good at explaining the menu and answered questions well. They are a busy place, so patience and good manners pays off with smiles from the staff and great food delivered. I will be back in the future. Happy 4yr anniversary!
The good: The waiter was friendly and professional, genuinely seemed to care about the dining experience. This is the reason for two stars instead of one.The bad: It took over one hour to receive the salads let alone the entrees. One of our drink orders was missed completely. The restaurant claimed to be understaffed, so maybe on other days the experience is better. If the restaurant was having issues serious enough to impact operations so bad we would have appreciated being warned ahead of time... we would have come back another day.The ugly: The cuts of steak were very poor in quality, one cut may have been the worst I have ever seen served. The other items did not live up to other farm to table restaurants we have visited.Being short staffed shouldn't impact the quality of the ingredients. The prices were extremely high for what we received in general. We wanted to like this restaurant, we wanted to have a relaxing, stress free dinner. That did not happen.
