Such a rustic little neighborhood gem. Fresh bread daily from their own oven. Get yolo loaf, cupcake, pizza slice, cannoli, slice of cake or cold cut sandwich to go. they also have tomato sauce jars, sausage and cheese by the pound. It's beloved by the locals since 1914.

A hidden gem in the "Little Italy" of Schenectady. Stopped in for a late lunch as we were getting back on the road heading back to Boston.

Menu is short and sweet but whatever we ordered was excellent! Very fresh, flavorful and authentic. The Parm fries with the eggplant sandwich was amazing. They use their own fresh baked bread and I could not resist buying a loaf from their bakery next door.

They have daily specials which are highly recommended. Tried their drinks and pleasantly - it was the right amount of sour, not sweetened - loved it!

The sausage and peppers on the tomato pie was delicious, one slice was a little soggy on bottom but not so bad it needed replacing. Was disappointed by the pasta alla pomodoro and the meatballs. The meatballs were sitting in a pool of greasy red water that I’m guessing was supposed to be sauce, and the pasta was about the same with actual sauce on top. If you’ve eaten at a malls food court then you know the quality, that’s what these two dishes reminded me of. The lasagna was great, I definitely recommend the dish. It’s a good sized portion with plenty of meat, cheese, and flavor. The bakery side was also a bit disappointing compared to other Italian bakery’s I’ve visited due to lack of selection. I was told they were sold out of other pastries at the time so perhaps I just came at the wrong time. I was able to get a couple cannoli, a slice of lemon lime cheesecake, a pack of assorted Italian cookies, and a muffaletta sandwich. All were delicious and satisfying. The staff was friendly and helpful on both the restaurant and and bakery side. I’d recommend coming in for breakfast or an early lunch as the dinner menu is over priced for what you get.

This bakery is not wheelchair accessible at all.
Im a fan of rome tomato pie, so i obviously had to check this place out, as tomato pie is few and far between around the cap region. i do appreciate this tomato pie in a different way, the sauce was better but the dough itself was undercooked and gummy. I loved that they sell muffalettas, i have not seen those anywhere in a while so i was excited about that. The women behind the counter treated me like a friend or family member and it was refreshing. I made a pizza with the fresh dough they sell and it was very tasty and airy. Definitely check this place out, if you arent in a wheelchair or have mobility issues. This is obviously just my opinion, everyones got one. Try it out for yourself. 2 slices tomato pie and 1 pizza dough $6.69

Biggest cupcakes this side of the Capitol Region.

Use to come here monthly back when I lived in Schenectady to eat at the restaurant side of Perreca's, always picking up a cupcake for dessert on my way out. Since moving though I don't get to visit as much, but I'm glad to see they're still around and still making fantastic cupcakes!

Bought two of their four varieties, the Carrot Cake and the Vanilla. They also have a chocolate and red velvet, but I'm unable to eat coca, so sadly can't partake of them. Comparable to Crumbl's price for their cookies, each cupcake was $5 for a total of $10 all together. Which might sound expensive, but you just have to see the size of these things, they're massive, and by the time you're done with one I very much doubt you'll have room for a second. So I find the price to be quite reasonable.

Flavor-wise the carrot cake is packed with lots of bis of carrot and spice, with the cream cheese frosting on top working perfectly to provide just the right amount of sweetness to the more subdue pastry. As alluded to in my previous statement, I finished the one but couldn't move onto the vanilla without going overboard, but if it is like I remember then the cake will be more tender and fluffy than the carrot cake was and the frosting with be a bit on the less sweet side; more airy.

I also see they recently celebrated their 100 year anniversary, so here's hoping they'll see another 100!

Just comparing Perreca's bread to Bella Napoli bread or their pastry versus Villa Italia or their tomato pie versus Roma's....sorry folks. It is what it is.
