Peter Pause is a Schenectady classic. Delicious breakfast, friendly atmosphere, old-timey feel. I recently had an egg, cheese, avocado, and tomato sandwich on their Italian bread (bread was buttered and grilled). It was sinfully good.

Not your typical hole in the wall! The food was not that great. We stopped in here in a pinch. Parking is almost impossible!

Only had two mediocre breakfast sandwiches here, (and those were better than most around the capital district) and that was only because they didn’t have their Italian bread they usually offer. The best breakfast sandwich in the capital region (bacon or sausage) is here on the Italian toast.

Oreo pancakes were great, I was worried the Oreo would be overpowering but it was a good balance.
The bacon was the best I've had in the area. Corned beef is my favorite in Schenectady so far.
I got delivery so the eggs ended up being a bit overdone.

No steak & eggs on the menu, and the homefries were the saddest and soggiest I had ever experienced.
Closed early. 1:15. Says 2pm
First time I visited, and I've been living in Schenectady for 16 years! Food was great - poached eggs, potatoes, and oh! that thick sliced rye toast... My companion had an Irish Benedict, and was very very happy as well! My new favorite casuak breakfast place!
