The restaurateur was great and very friendly. He suggested the Chicken Yassa since they were out of the chicken curry. This meal was great! The flavor and blend of spices was perfect. Everything was delicious and tender. I can’t wait to go back and try their fried chicken and other food. They make the fried chicken fresh to order so I can only imagine how good it will be. My wife and I will definitely be coming back.

The food at Jollof Kitchen was amazing! It deserves all the high praise and stars. We walked in and the playlist was amazing. The service was great. We were given an alternative recommendation since they didn’t have chicken curry that day. We were told to try the Yassa Chicken. OMMMMGGGGG!! That was AMAZING! The flavors and spices came together beautifully.
I got the peanut stew and that was delicious as well. Both meals the chicken melted off the bone with ease. The rice was plated in a perfect tight formation that made eating the meal fun and enjoyable.
I also had the ginger juice which was great. Fresh ginger to the face. Great for all ailments and health and wellness since I am getting over a sinus cold.
We loved the Yassa chicken so much we ordered another plate to take home for lunch tomorrow!
You will not regret eating here.

Came by this place by accident. Was in town to move my daughter back into school at Union and we were looking for a new place nearby to eat. The first couple of places we had in mind was already closed and we drove by Jollof Kitchen. We've never had African food before and we're a pretty adventurous family when it comes to food, so when we saw that they were still open... why not?
First of all, very friendly staff! Took time to explain the dishes as we weren't familiar with the cuisine. You order and pay at the counter, and they bring your food to your table. It's a very casual dining room with plenty of tables for a decent crowd. We ordered the chicken curry, a peanut stew with meat (I forget what it's called), then a lamb dish with jollof rice. WOW! All dishes were amazing!! And huge portions! We had a lot left over and my daughter asked for us to leave it all with her so she can have the leftovers all to herself! LOL
Accidental find, but we'll definitely be back again. Great food, great service!

One of the best west African restaurant in the capital region. Their jollof rice is one of the best and they have good selection of food and all are halal. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

I had the Chicken Yassa, Chicken Jollof, and Chicken Peanut Stew. And they were all amazing. Each one was very flavorful and the chicken was fall of the bone tender in every one. You can't go wrong with sny of the three. I had to rate them I'd probably go
1. Chicken Yassa (the sauce and onions were killer)
2. Jollof (only one with seasoned rice means it packed a bunch of flavor)
3. Peanut Stew (feels disingenuous to rank this as the lowest option when it was still so good and the chicken was the most tender. I'd be happy to be served this anytime, anywhere)
It wasnt just the food, the service was spectacular too. Fast and efficient.
The owner gave off such a great vibe, just very friendly and upbeat.
I ate here on the drive up to Boston, and am already looking forward to the next time I can stop by.

Got takout tonight and enjoyed our food so much! The food was fresh (especially the salad which seemed just picked from the garden) and the seasoning was delicious. Large portions and the place is spotlessly clean. The owner is friendly and the food was ready right on time. Looking forward to returning!

Wonderful place with very friendly staff and most importantly, the food is off the charts!!I purchased a large pan of Jollof rice and a large pan of stewed chicken for my Thanksgiving house warming last year. Both items completely stole the show! Everyone wanted to know where the food came from and I told everyone it was the best chefs in Schenectady. Highly recommended food for a very affordable price.
