Every single staff member was amazing, not just our server! The mimosa flight was definitely worth it,sour apple was my favorite. We had a slice of the chocolate cheesecake and a sweet crepe for dessert, and it was amazing. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, the staff was great and the food was fresh and delicious.
dry scones but truly everything else is delicious! and servers are sweethearts.
Great place to get tea! It's just expensive to order food
Overpriced, tiny portions
For a $16 sandwich and $6 lemonade I expected a lot more. Taste and quality wise they were mediocre, and the sandwich was very small and thin
Pretty disappointed
Love this place! Free parking is available nearby, and Jay Street itself is a fun area to explore, perfect for something to do before or after your visit. While it can be a bit pricey, the portions are generous, and the drinks are excellent. The variety of tea options is especially impressive, so if nothing else, come for the tea!
The morning and afternoon tea combos are a must-try and usually what my friends and I go for. Expect to spend around $25–$30 per person, but it's worth the splurge.
The tea, as previously mentioned, is so good. Warning, they do not have lattes of any sort. Just French press coffee, as a non-coffee drink, I don't mind at all.
Service was amazing! Go early for better deals and a table. This place gets busy on weekends, especially on Sundays, with the farmers' market. The atmosphere is also great, but it does get rather loud. Only 1 bathroom for the establishment, so a line will form.
Overall, great spot! Check it out.
This place needs people that give a crap about making the orders correct. I will be carrying cash every time I go in now when I pre order, If my order is incorrect, I will not be tipping. I'm one step away from never going to this establishment again. Let's see what happens.
The food and tea were delicious. Arie was very kind and attentive. I just think the juxtaposition of the lovely atmosphere and gorgeous tea cups to the plastic cups and bottom of the barrel utensils is odd, especially given the price.
I don't know, I went there and I bought a wine slushy but it was $10 which was ridiculously expensive, and then, they gave me a dirty look. I feel its like a scene from a bad movie. Potential entrapment; AVOID!

My favorite lunch place in Schenectady. The food is outstanding, the service is great, and they even have high-quality coffee, if Tea isn’t your thing.
Highly recommend.

Top noch service and food offered here at the whistling kettle on Jay. Our server Hailey (like the comet) went above and beyond to ensure our party of 6 had the best time and treatment. I saw her treat the surrounding tables with the same enthusiasm and respect. I will absolutely return and spread my experiences because Hailey made me want to keep coming back! The food was incredible, the store, adorable and I don't normally go out of my way to supply a review but I felt so compelled after having such a great experience. Thank you Whistling Kettle staff!

We LOVE this place. Went in yesterday, it has probably been a bit less than a year since we have been. We will be back VERY soon. Our server...Darien. He was friendly, easy going and has a great smile.
The food....as vegetarians, this place has a good amount of options. We opted for tower, which we always select. You get 3 choices ( sandwich, soup or salad, and a dessert scone or crepe.) We ordered the garden sandwich. The ciabbatta bread was amazing, and filled with artichokes, peppers and other amazing goodies, was so good I have talked about for over 24 hours and would go now, though it's dark, cold and yuck, I would go right now . I had the roasted red pepper and smoked Gouda soup, my partner had the vegan chili. Both were fantastic. We each selected the fruits of the forest scone with an amazing cream and jelly combo.
I had a container of the blueberry ginger tea, it is my favorite. My partner had a cold hibiscus tea drink, which he said was good.
Great, bright atmosphere, with the ability to do tea flights, and shop a massive variety of loose leaf teas and the accessories that go with it.

This place has an impressive selection of teas, so we opted for a tea flight to sample a few—every flavor was delightful! We also tried the mimosa flight and ordered the vegetarian sandwich with roasted red pepper soup, which was absolutely delicious. Although the sandwich was a bit messy to eat, it was still tasty. The service was fantastic, and while it’s on the pricier side, we felt it was well worth the splurge.

Food was good, service was quick when I said I was in a rush. Riley was so prompt and accommodating. Cobb salad was full of protein and energy latte was perfect to keep me going for work. Atmosphere made me wish I could stay longer.
