The burger was SO VERY good. The charbroil was perfect. I would give 5 stars but the tomatoes were too mealy to eat. The staff were nice and the gift shop had a LOT of variety.

If you go to eat by yourself at The Apple Barrel Cafe, good luck getting a table. Even being handicapped and after the lunch rush. There were three empty tables and one outside in the sun and they would not let me sit; said I have to wait for a table!! I will never go there again, store or cafe. Never have this issue at any other restaurant. Boo, hiss Apple Barrel!

As soon as we walked in I could tell that some type of change had taken place like a new owner. We had lunch outside and waited a while for food. Food was good but not as good as it used to be. The bathroom was terrible. A wooden baby changing table was dirty with peeling paint. The sink, toilet and floor were dirty. I was very surprised because it’s always been kept up top notch. Definitely a different stop for food and gifts than it used to be. Disappointed.

We waited 10 minutes to be seated, just like we were told by the very nice hostess . Our compelled stop when traveling to Lake Placid

This place is amazing. Visited Howe’s Cavern and stopped here for lunch. The ingredients were all fresh and service was awesome. The chef would come out to pick ingredients from their herb garden and the premises is decorated with an abundance of flowering plants and aromatics. Highly recommend.
Always buy a few hanging baskets here every year. The store is cute and you will leave with something. Whenever I have lunch, I have to get pie! It was coconut cream for me today. Yum.

Wanted to love this place. It was adorable inside the cafe. We just wanted to get sandwiches to go. The food was amazing, but it took an hour! Which we weren't told when we ordered and paid. So we had to stick around, since we were already in for $40. It was very busy. I think that maybe they need to either do take-out and no table service or vice versa. Because the kitchen could not keep up with both. Multiple tables of people were also left waiting for huge chunks of time. One couple was seated just after I got there. They still didn't have their food and the gentleman ended up just asking for it to go.
