I love The Basin Grill. The food is so good. However, my last experience there was absolutely awful. Saturday July 19 it’s my birthday and my husband made a reservation Friday for Saturday for 5 pm for 6 people. We show up and are told there’s no room outside and we’d have to wait. My husband said “even with a reservation” with an attitude the young hostess said “ yeah we don’t have room” A guy managed to put a couple tables together for us, said that’s for us so we were sat within 10 minutes. After that 10 minutes, in direct sun light we had to wait about 20 minutes before we even got to place a drink order. Another 15 minutes goes by, they brought my husband’s beer and took our appetizer order. Still no other drinks. Appetizers start to come out. We ordered Brussels, medium wings and street corn. Brussels great. Wings! Another waitress came over and said it wasn’t our wings. My mom already touched them but she definitely doesn’t want hot so we send them back…waitress came back- still no drinks and says there is nothing they can do about the wings. I spoke up and said- they didn’t make them wrong-you grabbed someone’s else’s order- finally get drinks. My mom’s drink had dead ants floating ( we realize it’s outside, but still gross) have the waitress get a new one and finally the correct wings and street corn. - we decided not to order meals and leave. $100 later, and a 20% tip still because we can’t not tip…I was so excited to share this place with my mom, aunt and a couple friends and let’s just say it didn’t excite them. We will try again in the future but this experience was awful.

Great food, great service, and a great time listening to Russ Kennedy for Father's Day. I would suggest nixing the barrata and swapping it for bruschetta.

Nice place right on the Hudson River. Inside and outside bars and dining!! The burger was a good size and tasty with thin cit, crispy fries. Reasonable drink prices ($5 for an Ultra). Madison is an excellent server!!

We were sat almost immediately which was great, but then was waiting for 50 mins before a waitress came over to even to see about drinks with 3 kids after going up to hostess after 35 mins went by. No urgency for drinks or food and did not offer a discount nothing and there were plenty of empty tables. Very disappointed and when asked what they had for even regular drinks for kids staff was unaware. Would not recommend.

I live far from the area and visit seldomly and have dined in at this location several times. Todays visit was busy and certainly showed some frustrations that are to be expected on any late Saturday dinner such as delays to be seated and helped for drinks and orders. However I was seated in a section which looked to be in a completely different area then the waitress covering usually it’s in areas or groups for convenience (I’m not sure if that’s the case) however the food was good as expected lobster roll was a hit as always. However I would be frustrated with some things and especially the delays but our waitress Chelsea not sure if it’s spelled correctly went out of her way literally to serve us and exceeded our dining expectations she took a challenging situation and made it marvelous. She did her best for an extremely fast order to table and came back many times to make sure we were in great shape and enjoyed our experience. Good food is one thing but this review nor would my interest to return would have been restored without good hearted people. I think she deserves to be celebrated as customer service jobs are very difficult and she makes it look easy. Thanks for everything. We will be back.

Nestled along the Champlain Canal at the Schuyler Yacht Basin this riverside spot is a definite go to for outdoor dining & a summer cocktail. The menu has lots of variety, with options to modify for gluten-free. Gluten free buns available for any burger or sandwich.

Relaxing mid afternoon Sunday dining. Soft live music, very good food.
Wife’s ordered her steak medium. Was cooked well done. Server immediately hit her another. The other steak was cooked medium/well but my wife ate it anyway. Mojitos were aweful. Server got us another which was better but still charged for one. The pretzel cheese dip was not beer based. It was spray cheese at best. The He Ty chicken sandwich was good.

The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is the service was slow, margaritas made with sour mix - eww ? but the food was excellent all around. Atmosphere was pleasant but nothing exceptional.
