Our food was great and the waitress was even better! The homemade chicken tenders are 6 year approved she said 10/10 and the fries were 9/10. Mozzarella logs are truly logs, humongous! The Buffalo Mac and cheese is absolutely great!

Cannot say enough about this place! We drive over an hour to get there and have never been disappointed in the three times we’ve been there. Went last week after a funeral they fed 20 of us with impeccable service outstanding food. The owner and the pastry chef couldn’t have been nicer! And I am a tough critic!

Service was excellent. We were immediately greeted by Lou, the owner and chef when we walked in (in the middle of a bit of a snow storm). Our server, although I didn't get her name, was very friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. Even in the bad weather and only being open another hour, they had some other tables filled and a warm and welcoming ambiance. By warm, I mean figuratively and literally! There's a little wood stove going inside and everything. The vibe was so cozy and cute Perfect for our first date night out after a baby and return from deployment. Portions of the food were large and very tasty. I cannot wait to return to try the pastrami and some dessert. In the mean time, their chicken parm was cooked perfectly and we had leftovers! This place is a real labor of love. Bravo, Lou. Thanks for having us in.

Who knew this unassuming building was hiding the best darn Ruben and Pastrami sandwiches I have ever had! We also sampled a most excellent French onion soup. What an amazing meal. Come hungry, the portions are generous. The chef personally came out to greet us and describe what he was making in the kitchen...fabulous!

The place was cute, and our server was excellent. The food was lacking. Some of it was cold and the cheese sauce for the pretzel appetizer tasted like straight onion powder. The fries were delicious but $9 for a side of plain fries is steep in my opinion. Fries do not come with sandwich meals. There were very dirty dishes at our table and plates with wipeable grease brought to us with our appetizer. Cook in the kitchen had long hair and did not wear a hair net. We will not return and feel mislead by the reviews.

Every time I go to Sweet Lou's Bisto it gets better. This time we got to meet Lou and discuss the recipes of his wonderful home made pastrami and sauerkraut. Lou's is a step back in time when making great food took time, skill and patience. And it's worth the wait. Chef Lou's mission statement is perfectly stated. "I'd rather serve great food on plastic than good food on china"Parking: Off street parking is the lot behind the bistro.

Sweet Lou's is like Grandma's dinner table! The Chef/Owner and his staff create amazing dishes. Chef Lou greeted us when we arrived for a late lunch and introduced us to all his homemade dishes. I had the meatballs....unbelievable and my husband had a monstrous housemade Classic Reuben! Everything was delicious and the hospitality made us feel like family! Thank you Chef Lou.

Sweet Lou’s serves scrumptious food in a welcoming “down home” atmosphere. My husband and I ate lunch at Sweet Lou’s on a Thursday in October. We ordered their Reuben and their pulled pork. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Reuben and stated it was the best sandwich he has ever had! My pull pork sandwich was filled with melt in your mouth greatness! Each sandwich came with a side of spicy slaw. The owner/chef takes great care in his preparation of food. He uses high quality ingredients and portions are generous. We look forward to returning to Sweet Lou’s soon!

they never gave us the silverware that we needed plus once we got our food it was extremely salty!! It was a bad experience and we won't be coming back again! Such a waste of money.

I have to place a review here regarding two meals I purchased from Sweet Lou's Bistro on 9/2/2023. I was on vacation in the area at a lake house we own nearby, and we had seen Sweet Lou's on Facebook posts and were eager to try it out. I had ordered two of the specials for that day: The Prime Rib and the Lasagna. These are sold as meals for two, so I figured we had dinner to last us two nights between myself and my spouse. When we opened the trays of food upon getting home, we were appalled at the contents. The meat was grey and tough, with gristle and tendon. It was definitely not prime rib. I am not even sure what cut of meat it was. We could not cut it easily with a sharp knife, and the outer edge was ringed by a tough strip of tendon. The description is that this is a meal for 2. Aside from the inedible meat, the tray included about 1 dozen potato wedges that were overcooked, and about a cup of salad greens. We consoled ourselves that we still had the lasagna to eat. We were wrong. The lasagna was dry. The noodles were so overdone they were crispy and you couldn't even bite into them. The meat tasted like someone used Italian dressing to season it and it tasted bitter and burnt. It also included a small green salad. It was past the time that the restaurant closed when we opened the food trays, so no chance to call to discuss this meal. In addition, it was a holiday weekend, and they are only open after 12 noon from Wednesday to Saturday. I tried in vain for two weeks to reach them by phone, but no one answered each time I called. Since we do not live in the area, I am unable to simply drive over to complain. The meals cost over $100 and I had to throw them in the garbage. In the end, my dinner that night was McDonalds. Here's my advise. Avoid eating food from this restaurant. The only solace I had from my expensive mistake was the hours of laughing about the meat and what made them think what they served was prime rib. If I saw a place here on Yelp to post a picture of the food I got, I would. If I do see a spot for an image, I will include one. If the folks at Sweet Lou's have an issue with my complaint, just post a phone number I can call to speak with you about my food and we can have a discussion.

Disappointed with this little place. The Reuben I ordered was very dry and not grilled as I expected. It seemed to be put together after the bread was toasted. The sweet potato fries were not crispy and could have been cooked a little more. The service was good and the interior was comfortable and different.

Stopped here on our way back from visiting Lock 5...looked up some close places to eat and chose Sweet Lou's....We were warmly greeted. Chose a place to sit. It's a simple and cool layout. I ordered the Richardson Sandwich. Let me say, the pulled pork melts in your mouth like butter. Also, got some fries with choice of cheese or gravy. Chose cheese. Delish. Will be returning for sure.
