Food is good. Waitress is good. however bar service sucks. They wont let you sit at the bar if you arent a regular. The bartender/manager has been rude to my parents multiple times despite me living a 1/4 mile away and the bartender knowing that my parents have gone with me for dinner there before multiple times. She refused bar service for my family and even told them one time that the kitchen was closed despite food still being served. White whale is officially the better bar in seaford harbor and it has a brighter athmosphere. The people are nicer. White whale is my new go to for drinks and food. I will go back to the bayview tavern when the bartender/manager decides to clean up their act and be more respectful to my family and stop treating them like outcasts. For now i will keep my business with the white whale.

I witnessed an odd scenario and after reading similar reviews mentioning segregation I felt compelled to type this. A black male walked in inquiring about an open cook position posted online that the bartender confirmed they were hiring for. When the, what I presume to be the owner, approached they didn't miss a beat and said they were not hiring and they had their cooks but the energy was just off. Would recommend steering away.

The food is good. The wait staff in the restaurant is also good. The atmosphere and bartender is very unwelcoming. Was not even allowed to sit at bar because we weren't a regular patron and didn't live in the neighbor but our relative does. Very unwelcoming and almost segregated. Will never eat there again. Horrible experience. Went several times. Everytime we went there it was the same not allowed near the bar unless you were a regular and treated badly by the bartender. Can't wait until the White Whale opens up!

Came here for a week day lunch. Waitress was very friendly but the service was incredibly slow considering we were the only table. This was likely a kitchen issue not the one lady running the front of the house. I don't know if soups weren't hot yet but even soups took over half hour to come out. The New England clam chowder is delicious although light on the clams. French onion soup was good too. Pulled pork slider and taco were great. Roast beef sandwiches were just ok. The fries they serve are not the type of fries I prefer. However, are the really meh frozen kind. They do give you a big portion of the onion rings but I would not order them again.
Was pleasantly surprised with this gem about 5 minutes from my house. The service was great, the food even better. Fried calamari was very tasty and crispy the way it should be. My husband ordered a steak cooked exactly the way he requested. I ordered the seafood fra diavolo with linguine which was to die for! I will definitely be visiting this spot again.
