It was a great find for us on the Southern Shore in central Long Island. We were looking for a bite to eat before going to a concert at Jones Beach Theatre. Wide variety on the menu to suit all budgets to a great outdoor waterfront seat on a canal and docks. Great service from their staff. Their raw bar with clams and shrimp, the Watermelon Feta Salad, and Falafels were great appetizers. NY Strip Steak, Horseradish crusted Salmon and White clam sauce with Linguine were excellent entrées. Lately entrées have been on the small side. My wife said she was expecting the usual small portions we have been getting lately dining out. But not here. The roasted potatoes with the steak were a meal in themselves. Same with a side order of fries. Nice drinks. Thank you for making our outing to Jones Beach perfect. We will be coming back!

If you want delicious seafood this is a must. The fluke was incredible tasty and fresh. And crab cake had big chunks of crab. In a great sauce. My friend had a Mahi Mahi

I am disappointed with the food and service. First the waiter served bread and butter to every table except for ours. He clearly favored his regular customers as he refilled their waters regularly and skipped ours. My bf ordered salmon which was undercooked, and there was a long black hair in it too. I gave two starts because of the sweet fries and mussels that were great.

Always enjoy our meal here! Went again last night and were seated promptly (had rezzie) and along dock as requested which we really appreciated. Nancy was once again our wonderful server, so happy about that as well, but all the servers are pleasant. We started w a couple of well made and generous cocktails and then shared the tuna tartare and wedge salad. My partner enjoyed the fish and chips and I had to bring home half of my yummy burger. Always relaxed and enjoyable time!

Came around 7 on a Sunday place is very nice but the food very mediocre . Took a long time to get the food and when we got it was not good at least mine the fish was hard and had no flavor. Our waitress was nice but because we were the last to order we felt very uncomfortable because the staff was standing waiting for us to leave. Not a good experience I would not recommend this place to anyone

Great hideaway. Went there on a Monday p.m for lobster. Food was good, although the corn that came with lobster was a bit raunchy. But there was enough other food to make up for it. Service was a bit slow. The bar staff were covering the tables. We were not in a hurry, so it didn’t bother us.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating The food was delicious and plentiful and the scenery and ambiance was very relaxing. It was our first time at Anchor Down Dockside and it was a great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone it will not disappoint.
