First off, I absolutely LOVE this wine... BUT, I took the trip out here (over an hour from home) because I figured I might save a few bucks on a couple bottles and it turns out that it's actually CHEAPER at my local liquor store!!!
So, the wine is great but just buy it local because they are gouging you here where they make the stuff!
This is the first time I have been to this winery in years, and I was very disappointed. The signage was lacking and it was difficult to find the prices of things. We were going to do a tasting, but the employees didn't acknowledge us. So we decided we'd order a glass of wine but couldn't figure out how much it was. Eventually, we made our way to the slushies knowing this wasn't the place to order a glass of wine and were told the price of wine per glass ranged from $8 - $12 depending on which wine was selected. It wasn't clear what our choices were or where we should order, so we hesitantly ordered (3) 10 ounce slushies at $10.00 each. When the employee handed them to us, she said that they were loose because she just added mix. We probably should have been told this before she poured them. They were horrible. They were warm and tasted like a cup of sugar, minus the alcohol. So, for ($37.00)that includes a 15% tip, we got small cups of warm fruity sugar water. I love to leave good reviews if they are warranted but couldn't do it on this trip.
We stop here every Thursday and so disappointed tonight with zero customer service. We were ignored by 3 employees and other patrons were waited on before us. So sad. Such a beautiful place. Get some welcoming staff like Eva. We will.not be back until we know Eva is there.
Enjoyed the bacon on the lake event. The tasting was organized very well. We also sat at their main tasting bar and tried some spirits. The maple liquor was great!!
We've been visiting Montezuma Winery for a few years now, and I have to say that the new tasting room expansion is fantastic. It's really an experience that can keep you there for an hour or beyond. Aside from the tastings and events, the gift shop is really delightful. They have quite an assortment of clothing and offerings - for the wine lover to the cat lover to everything in between. The staff is friendly and engaging. It took a while for this new expansion to open, but it was worth every minute of the wait. Haven't tried the food offerings yet, but we plan to soon.
Great place, excellent service and the wine slushies are the best.
We love Montezuma Winery. Always a great time, the staff is fantastic, fun, and accommodating!!

Highlight of the day after a great ride through the park. Dave was fun, the wine was great. Sit down areas being added with even make it better.
