Good product - tostones and maltas muy bien
Good service - very nice employees, also keeping busy
Good atmosphere - good balance of fun and professional
Bad utensils - flimsy fork and knife, made eating very frustrating. May have to become an animal and eat with my "bear" hands with utensils like this.
Overall a nice experience. When it comes to the thing that matters (the food), it would be easier to enjoy with slightly sturdier utensils, considering most of the food is fried. Would recommend to a friend, and would visit again.

Plastic in my empanada. Poor customer service from beginning to end. They never get my order correct and they put plastic wrappers in the food
I've been looking for an empanada place ever since my favorite spot closed down. Today I decided to try out Island empanada. Ordered a pastelon empanada, pork, and the Philly cheesesteak, as well as some tostones. The pernil empanada was good, the Philly cheesesteak was good, however the pastelon one was disappointing. The meat had no flavor, there was parts that were a little hard and stuck together, not how it normally is. For a pastelon empanada, it had barely any cheese or sweet plantain. For almost $5 and that small size, I would've expected something delicious. The tostones were nice and crunchy, cooked to perfection. It's nice and clean in there , the employees were friendly.

Placed an online order when the website says they closed at 9 pm. The order was place an hour or even more beforehand. Drive all the way to the store to see a piece of paper on the door saying they closed at 8 pm. I don’t understand why you don’t just turn off your online ordering system. Stealing money from customers basically.
Lovely place and very friendly staff, pink & green sauce with empanadas 🙌🏽

Orderd here for pick up when my in-laws came to visit. Ordered multiple meals with pastelon empanada and received all buffalo chicken! When I called they were close to closing and said I would receive a refund. Never did called back and they offered me a credit different person I was cool with that buy when we went to use it got the run around again. Kept telling me call back different manager. This place sucks biting into buffalo chicken when you ordered beef and cheese and then everyone was the same.

Highly over priced ! I suggest you go to Brentwood or Bayshore if you want your money's worth. In Bayshore the empanadas are bigger with more meat and they cost 3.00$ .They charge 4-4.50 and there so small not enough meat. You can get better tasting food in Brentwood or Bayshore for a whole lot less. I was charged over 30$+ for a meal that goes for 18.00$ in Bayshore or Brentwood. I will never go to Island Empanadas again. Their meal size doesn't match what you pay for. Over priced. Bayshore's biggest tin plate wouldn't cost 30 dollars with everything rice and beans, meat, fried sweet platanos, empanadas, and a soda. So I suggest those 2 places where your dollars get you more food for your bucks. Island Empanadas is a RIP off.
My Girlfriend brought home a Beef Empanda and a Mac and Cheese Empanada.

Came here for the first time today . $4 for one empanada is a little drag especially given the fact that it’s small . Could have been more seasoned and less gooey.

We ordered a box of 20 Empanadas online. They were $86.79. When we picked them up, there was a sign in front with a different price for a box of 20, $69.99.
The variety and the taste of all wow!! you have to try them!!
New I owner's 2 weeks ago. Worth giving it another chance. Dough is golden brown, crunchy and tastier. Fillings delicious. We had chorizo with potato, chipotle beef, spinach and feta cheese and Philly cheesesteak. About $4 each with tax. Can't wait to go back and try their other dishes.
