I've been looking for an empanada place ever since my favorite spot closed down. Today I decided to try out Island empanada. Ordered a pastelon empanada, pork, and the Philly cheesesteak, as well as some tostones. The pernil empanada was good, the Philly cheesesteak was good, however the pastelon one was disappointing. The meat had no flavor, there was parts that were a little hard and stuck together, not how it normally is. For a pastelon empanada, it had barely any cheese...

New I owner's 2 weeks ago. Worth giving it another chance. Dough is golden brown, crunchy and tastier. Fillings delicious. We had chorizo with potato, chipotle beef, spinach and feta cheese and Philly cheesesteak. About $4 each with tax. Can't wait to go back and try their other dishes.
