This is a great! The food was great. It has a very small intimate feel. There are only a few tables so I would recommend a reservation. Their menu rotates so it's not the same thing every time.Parking: Like the seating parking is limited.

Such a great gem in Sidney. Reservations are highly recommended, as space is limited. There is a rotating menu each week with three delicious dishes to choose from, as well as appetizers and desserts. The Jagerschnitzle was absolutely outstanding, perfectly breaded, and topped with a delicious mushroom sauce. The spatzel was pillowy and tender. But the real winner--the red cabbage--was phenomenal! I should also note that the potato pancake appetizer this week was also worthy of a mention. This place is run by a mother-daughter duo who greets you with so much warmth, from walking into the restaurant to cooking and serving your meal. I can't wait to come home to visit again and come to Bavaria!

We visited the area for a few days and found this gem. Please note that they do not open everyday and you can find their weekly menu on Google. First off, the service was excellent. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, authentic and generous in portion. My favourite is their potato pancakes. It is a rather small restaurant so just make sure you call ahead!

Wonderful, authentic German food made the way your Oma would make it. The owners care deeply about your experience and love to share the story of the dishes they serve. Make reservations if you are traveling from a distance because it is a small, intimate restaurant. Not inexpensive, but I’m happy to support these wonderful folks doing a wonderful thing by keeping German cuisine alive.

We went there to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time. Quiet, intimate, and yet like like home, providing your German. The best Souerbraton. Better than home made. Applestruedel was served warm with vanilla ice cream; just perfect. I was having scheduling difficulties and they saved the day. The reason I gave a 4 out of 5 for the atmosphere is that l am old fashioned and the decor is modern.Kid-friendliness: There was a child having dinner with his father and they had a lovely time, while we were there.Parking: Plenty of parking.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps. Only a door sill.

My husband and I have been here every year since covid and just stumbled in one day and boy we were hooked! now we will be coming back every year. It’s a mother-daughter owned business and everything is fresh ! The restaurant is cozy, well lit , and it feels like the best home cooked german meal you ever had each time ! The menus change weekly which lets you step out of your comfort zone and try something new each time instead of sticking to your same dish ! side not (nothing i’ve tried ever disappointed) ! The cook is the mom and the baker the daughter and each dish is unique and flavorful ! If you ever wanted to try authentic german food or beer this hidden gem is your go to !also they gave us tips when traveling to Germany which i cant wait to use !

Best German food I've had in a long time. The beer is a good selection. The service was the best.

My wife and I were looking for someplace for dinner tonight. Usually we head into Norwich or Binghamton. By happenstance we went into Sidney, NY and came across "The Bavaria". Not sure what to expect, we decided to try it out. I have not had good German food since my German Grandma in Queens NY made it for me as a kid. I thought nothing could be as good as my Grandmother's.....I was wrong...no offense Grandma, but the food here was authentic and delicious. The service was great and very friendly. I truly enjoyed talking with the owner and her daughter, and was happy to tell them how wonderful their restaurant is.I am a Foodie, and have been cooking since I was 7 and am now 63. When I say this food was excellent, I mean it.It is so difficult to find an authentic German restaurant in upstate NY. I am so glad that this one is only a short distance from me.I can't remember the dish I had, but it was excellent. The breaded pork was done perfectly, the red cabbage had just the right amount of sour, and the Spatzele was melt in your mouth . The Black Forest Cake for desert, was pure heaven with real kirsch soaked cherry filling , delicious chocolate cake with a delectable whipped cream frosting. We will definitely be back there soon.I highly recomend " The Bavaria". Very reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food. A gourmet dream.

Very cozy, first time their & will go back. Went last evening. The food was excellent didn’t have a long wait.I had the Jagerschnitzel smother in a mushroom gravy with red cabbage and spaetzle and a ginger ale soda. Desert was a strawberry cream cake and blueberry tea. I can’t wait to go back for sauerbraten & gravy. That will make my day.
