This might be the best breakfast on Long Island. The sourdough pancakes are fabulous - soft but with a great bite. The sausage is unique and tasty and the bacon had all the great bacon flavor without being too salty. The Little Gull Rolls use on the breakfast sandwich are light and fluffy, but holds everything together. The scrambled egg and cheese sandwich was incredibly fluffy throughout. Hash browns are very crispy, like they should be. Coffee is great.

And the house-made biscuits. I'll keep coming back for those alone. They're not as tender as a proper southern biscuit, but the flavor is there. And it's the best I've found on Long Island by a huge margin.

The space is tiny, but quaint and cozy. While the service on my first visit was a bit slow, it was perfectly timed on the second. Both visits I arrived at opening, and the 21 indoor seats fill almost immediately.

Third visit: I arrived an hour before closing, waited to be seated, and got my food 1:15 later. Fried chicken sandwich is good with bacon, though I bet it would be even better on a biscuit. I would have tried it, but they were out (not too surprising).

Lemonade is just sweet enough, and tastes freshly squeezed. I like it sour, so I this was great.

Fourth visit I tried the pumpkin pancakes. It tasted strongly of pumpkin puree, with a dense moist texture. They were okay (though certainly high quality) but my least favorite thing I've tried.

The place was really beautiful and my partner and I had a great time enjoying our food. We got the sour dough pancakes and they were delicious and the whipped butter on top was amazing. The drinks we had gotten( I believe the peach mango tea and the sparking lemonade) were also very refreshing and light and helped to balance the heaviness of the pancakes. Only issue was that it took about 45 minutes for the food so the wait time was a bit long but besides that everything else was very good.

This little neighborhood diner is truly a gem. You can taste the love in every bite. The ingredients are local, the bread is baked fresh, and the food feels like home. Since it’s gone viral, weekends can mean a wait—but it’s worth it. Be patient, be kind, and remember the staff is working hard to serve everyone. Come with an open heart and an open mind, and you’ll see why this spot is so special to our community.

Finally got to this cafe after reading so much about it and was sadly disappointed.
First off the food IS GOOD, that's NOT the problem. The problem was the WAIT and that was NOT the server's fault but the kitchen.
Two orders of pancakes, an omelet and a burger should NOT take an hour especially when the place isn't filled.
Then there's the grime... We sat outside. The windows and siding were covered with dust (acid rain residue?) Frankly, that's easy to clean off with some siding spray and a hose... but it wasn't.
I know the owner is looking for a casual atmosphere (weathered paint, old eclectic tables and chairs, a dimly lit interior) I get that, but the exterior SHOULD BE clean, and that does a tremendous disservice to an establishment that serves nice meals.
Suggestions... close early one day, wash down the outside, & get more kitchen help (one more person would do) It's a great old building (an old LIRR train station) but it needs some TLC

This place can benefit from having a better chain of command. One girl was simultaneously the hostess and server, while also taking calls and helping other staff - but she did so with a smile on her face and was incredibly kind. The staff did their best among the flood of customers waiting, and I can only hope they’re all being compensated more than fair. For the food itself, it is clearly all fresh and made to order, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything particularly outstanding - I personally wouldn’t go out of my way for their dishes. During peak season, expect to wait a while, but be considerate if you choose to dine with them - they are all handling a lot at a time.

Pancakes are Mrs Butterworth masterpiece before she got wood chipped but amazing sourdough batter and great crunch. Cool place. Great service!

Absolutely delicious and 10/10 recommend IF you are going on a weekday.

Don’t bother on the weekend though! Long waits, super slow and service gets overwhelmed.
Came w/2 ppl on Sunday and quoted 20-30 min wait for a table - no problem. Sadly we only started eating 2 hours later: 1 hour waiting for table, 1 hour waiting for food.

Any requests (as simple as water and utensils) were bafflingly always forgotten about, follow ups were not even met with an apology…
The table next to us had to request their food to go it was taking too long. Luckily I had lots of time to kill today and the banger food made up for my hangry mood.

Food is high quality best I've seen on long island. Very charming setup.Very amazingly delicious food. JUST MESMERIZING! I wish they would use imported ketchup from Canada or Europe so it wouldn't contain corn syrup but love that its in a glass bottle. Coffee is Superb! Pancakes the best ive had in 30 years. Bread is freshly made by themselves. Bread was soggy on Philly cheese steak, table not clean, no spoon or wooden stick given with coffee to mix milk They need a busboy/busgal, Clean garbage around dumpster even if its not there's. Its your restaurants view.

Visited the Little Gull during a week long stay in town and I'm so glad we stopped in! Such an adorably curated, cozy spot. Plenty of parking and easy to find, with great staff and good coffee. We had breakfast on a quiet summer morning and their egg sandwich was perfectly oozy and rich. We brought home blueberry pancakes and there was enough for 2. Really fair prices and great vibes.
