I'm Haitian, not at all new to Jamaican foods but Ackee is very new to me and in my opinion, the chefs here make it the best! Tried several Jamaican restaurants throughout Rockland, Ackee along with other foods are all on point! Very pleasant atmosphere, workers are knowledgeable and super humble individuals even the customers are pleasant! Positive experience here always🙂

I really wanted to love this spot, but unfortunately it was disappointing. The rice and beans didn't have much flavor, the jerk chicken was extremely salty, and the vegetables were too spicy. I never have cared enough to leave a bad review for a food spot but the food was so unsatisfactory that I had to throw it out after only a few bites. I looove their fried chicken, Red Pea Soup, Ox tails, callaloo, stew peas(favorite?) and the peas and rice is flavorful and fluffy! Food is fresh everyday! Definitely my favorite restaurant in Spring Valley NY.?

The food was so good that I finished it all in one sitting even though the portion size was more than generous enough to save and eat later. Delicious Curry Goat, excellent Oxtail and an excellent selection of sides that were both fresh and delicious. I’ve been back multiple times, I absolutely love this place.
