I went today at opening and the doors were locked. I stood there for a good 10-15 minutes and still it was locked yet the workers were inside. I went before the food is good but still if you won’t open at 12 don’t say you are. People has places to be not stand around all day waiting for doors to be unlocked when it should’ve already been unlocked but ok.

The BEST Sushi, Asian/Fusion restaurant! I’ve tried most of them in the neighborhood and they don’t compare. We LOVE it here!The atmosphere, the service, the owners and especially the food. You can’t go wrong with anything you order whether it’s the rolls (highly recommend the American Dream roll and Covert Ave rolls). The Sushi Pizza and Age Rangoon and Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp are also awesome! The drinks are great too!But the best part are the owners, they are absolute sweethearts!

The food was overall great, only the fried cheesecake tasted a bit weird as the frying oil taste did not mix well with the cake. However, my major complaint was with the server. Though she was skilled, she made rude remarks and did not seem to have much patience with me or my friends.

I haven't dined in at Shintaro, but have ordered delivery multiple times. The food here is amazing. I have ordered the chicken bento box, chicken lo mein and mixed vegetables in brown sauce. My parents go to dish is shrimp with mixed vegetables. But the main reason I order is for the SUSHI! They're rolls are finger licking good. Even when I was pregnant, I had vegetable rolls and they were awesome. This is must for delicious Japanese food. Don't pass this up! And don't change the food guys! It's deliciously

Hadn't been out for sushi in quite a while so got together with a friend to fill the void. Walked in about 5pm and got 2 seats at the empty bar. My friend and I were not sure which wine/sake we wanted so the bartender allowed us to sample a few. She said she didn't drink and couldn't recommend any. I thought that was odd. You're a bartender, you should be able to make a recommendation, no? However, she did recommend we order the dinosaur eggs to start, and they were different and good. So, perhaps food is her knowledge base. At that point, service fell off even further. We were not given any soy sauce dishes with our app until I asked. I inquired about various rolls and was told she does not eat them. Should I be worried? Should this person even be a server? We placed our order and the bartender appeared to be memorizing it, with great difficulty. She then came back and repeated our order, which was not correct. Then she came back another time with an Ipad and took the order correctly.We decided to order a few rolls with sushi. The roll with the crab (possibly the King Kong Roll) was overly fishy. You couldn't even salvage the roll by removing the crab. Ironically that was the most expensive roll. I thought the remaining rolls and sushi were tasty. However, my friend thought the freshness of the fish could be better. The wasabi has zero kick. During our meal, I had to ask numerous times for water and drinks. Then, we had to wait for the check. I think it would have possibly been more enjoyable if the bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. I don't expect service personnel to know how good each serving is, but it would be nice to have them speak well of a dish. I left feeling the server was indifferent and not caring about making the dining experience enjoyable.

Hands down the BEST Japanese restaurant in Nassau, Suffolk, and queens! The freshest food! With the nicest, sweetest people who are so kind and polite, they make you feel like family! THE BEST!! THE BEST!!!!
