We used to come here all the time but recently the food has gone down hill and the service is so slow! They were clearly understaffed and were trying to make the best of it. Which would have been OK if the bread wasn't stale, the Utica greens inedible (we had to send them back) and my pasta was just some wet noodles with scallions and fatty prosciutto tossed on. It's sad to see a part of little Italy not meet the mark anymore.
My husband and I made reservations for a Thursday evening dinner. Upon arriving, we had a couple drinks at the bar while waiting to be seated. While my drink was good, it was not prepared as described on the drink menu. Once seated we found that our server was also the bartender and she also was covering other areas. It was quite obvious from the wait that the restaurant was under staffed and therefore our server was overwhelmed. Regarding the food, we had the meatball appetizer, which again was not as described on the menu, but was good. We enjoyed them but probably would not order them again. The salad was a small dinner salad and quite typical. My husband had a cup of chicken riggies soup which he said was quite good. I ordered the Carbonara with chicken and my husband the Gnocchi. We found both meals to be good yet nothing exceptional. Unable to eat more, we regretfully passed on dessert.
The food was unbelievable — we had their Utica Greens and they were some of the best we've ever had. This was followed by two of their specials — roasted duck breast and rack of lamb, so delicious!! Not only was the food incredible, but the service was the best. We had the best server, Jeffrey, who was hilarious and helpful; he is an advanced sommelier and gave us spectacular wine pairings for our dinner. We will definitely be returning here and recommend it to anyone and everyone!
Best Utica Greens in the city !!!! And I'm from Utica- so I know a bit about this. All their food is really great. Small and very comfortable. Authentic. Try it. You won't be disappointed.
Dinner reservations for four at 6:15pm on a Tuesday evening. We arrived at 6pm to a full entrance. Seated in a timely manner. Served water and menus, not asked if we'd like a cocktail until our order was taken approximately 15min later. We were served our bread and soup after waiting a while. Upon finishing, we waited, waited and waited for our meal; 2 hrs from the time we were seated until we received our dinner. I understand that they were busy; that they had a large party upstairs, but 2 hrs to wait for the entrees? The table of 4 seated next to us were equally dissatisfied. We each spoke with the manager expressing our concerns.
Went to lunch the past couple of days while I'm doing work trainings. Small but elegant lunch menu with a great price. Comes with either soup or salad, bread with oil for dipping and then your meal. Phenomenal!! I was the only one in the restaurant as I arrived only a few minutes after they opened on one day. And the service was wonderful, very courteous and attentive. Highly recommend!!
Went here 3 times in the last three months. 2 out of the three were not even worth rating. Our last visit the food seemed low to mid grade. I had ordered bacon and scallops which the scallops were tiny sea scallops and not sure what they consider bacon, but it truly didn't taste like bacon. Charging $22 dollars you would think the scallops would of been bigger and that the bacon would be bacon. My husband had a pasta and sausage dish which again not sure what they consider sausage, sure looked like a kielbasa. The server we had the last 2 times was wonderful. We like to patronize the small mom and pop businesses instead of franchises so even though we wont go back, I hope they learn from this post and go back to the way they used to be in the past.
The food was excellent. The best sauce and meatballs I've had in a long time. The staff was very courtesy and attentive.
Atmosphere was good, menu is great, but my lamb was over cooked, which they remade and it came out great. But we had I had to wait and we had already waited awhile to get our food. Husbands tuna was room temp. Flavors wew excellent and our guests food was done perfectly. I would have expected that they might throw us the dessert fir our trouble, but no. I probably will go back because it may have been an off night, but not for awhile.
Had a business dinner there last week. Great food and accommodated a few requests. But overall service seemed a bit off. Drinks took a while to arrive, seconds not offered. The Eggplant was outstanding. Great old school type restaurant.

Incredible authentic Italian cuisine. Fantastic server, Tom (also bartending) made the meal even more enjoyable. Delicious. Grazie!
Our table had the meatball app, Gnocchi, ravioli, and a scallop Alfredo dish. All were very good. The salad was average. Nothing special. The bread and oil was amazing. Couldn't eat dessert but it all looked good.
Just left here and I have to say the place is nice, the service was fine but the star of the show THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE! I have no idea what the people tasted that said the food is great. The food looked good but had NO flavor. Even the kids food was bad, flavorless pizza and dry chicken tenders. Had the Creme Brí»lée and it had no flavor, the consistency was like scrambled eggs, and the sugar was burned. Very disappointing experience. We won't be back! Makes me want to open my own restaurant!
I loved the place our waitress server Amazing food was Delicious
Great food and atmosphere. Spicy calamari was too greasy but all the other food was great. Drinks made while I was waiting at bar were good. Drinks ordered from out table were weak and were all ice.
