The best Asian food in Syracuse.

I've lived and/or worked in most parts of Syracuse at some point, and have formed bonds with a bunch of different Chinese takeout places in the city. I found this place by searching quality, rather than going for what's at my immediate location. The Bamboo House is absolutely a step above any of the regular American Chinese places around town. The only serious disappointment I experienced here was the wanton soup. The soup was thin and flavorless, the wantons were limp and unimpressive. We also didn't get any wonton chips on the side, which I think might be a war crime. Their dumplings and rangoons are hearty and flavorful. I'm always nervous when I try rangoons for the first time, because a lot of places don't even try to mask that you're eating deep fried cream cheese. These ones were better assembled. I don't know what it is, you just feel good about it holding it in your hand. And it tastes like deep fried cream cheese - with garlic and imitation crab meat! The egg rolls were average at best. We tried them last, so it hurt the most when they packed no punch at all. Our appetizers came with a side of some kind of spicy oil. You never know what you're going to take out of an experience, talk about left field. I still have dreams of this oil. My girlfriend and I have separately mentioned ordering the Pu Pu Platter during lunch time just so we can dip as many things as possible back into this spicy oil. We ordered Sesame and General Tso's chicken on our test run of the place, and it was immediately the best of each we'd ever had. I wouldn't change a thing about their crispy texture, or the sweet and mildly spicy sauce. Both orders paired well with fried rice, which ran a bit lighter and fluffier than most places make it. I ate my entire order way too fast, but from that experience I can tell you their food is a lot more forgiving on your stomach than most Chinese food after you've intensely overdone it. Their lo mein was also my favorite in town, but what I liked even more were the dry noodles. They were soft, but not over-cooked, and I love that they came with egg. I got mine with jumbo shrimp, which was a good size and had a good snap to it. Shrimp is often grainy when it comes to Chinese food, so this was a relief. I've made myself hungry recalling the food I tried so far. I have to come back soon.

Best American-Asian food in Syracuse and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, fresh, delivered promptly, and was high quality. We ordered for 4 people and ordered spring rolls, dumplings, general Tsao's chicken, spicy beef, hand pulled noodles, and red chili Thai. With delivery and tip, it came to less than $20 per person with generous left overs. Will order from here again for sure

Tried to call 5 times to order. No answer. On calls 4 and 5 they simply ignored after the first ring. This was at 5pm.

The food has always been very good and reasonably priced. Take out is very easy after ordering online. Let them know when you arrive around the time they give you and the food is usually out within a few minutes.

Very very oily food. Tasty but gosh darn oily. The spice level was on point. But they seriously need to cut down on how oily the lo mein and udon were.

Now our go to restaurant for take out. Consistently good, and always quick to turn around an order. $85 dollar order only took 25 minutes!

This is my favorite Chinese takeout in Syracuse. The food is great quality and the owner/employee makes ordering out so easy. He is so polite and I have literally seen him running around to ensure everything runs smoothly. Typical order includes sesame chicken, fried rice and crab rangoon. The fried rice and crab rangoon are some of the best I've tried. The fried rice is light and delicious. We have also tried the hand pulled noodles and were impressed!
