Food is typically pretty good but they close any time SU is out for break. How can they be closed on a Friday evening in June? We wanted to order dinner here and forgot that they only cater to the college students, and not anyone else that lives in this area. I ran into this same issue over winter break when it was closed for multiple weeks in December and January. Seems like there could be a better business model with having less staff or a restricted menu compared to closing down the whole establishment.
Such fast service m, amazing food, great price, love this place
The food is amazing, would give more stars if I could, the takoyaki is amazing and the sake selection is good
Great food and awesome service.
Good food fast service
The salmon bento boxes have changed significantly. The salmon is now drenched in sweet teriyaki sauce, there is nearly 3x the amount of rice served as before, the salad serving has doubled in size, but replaced with a mixture of more bitter spring greens, which are fine, but they overpower the delicate flavors of the sesame dressing. No longer is sushi served, with the sliced ginger and wasabi. Rather than being served bento boxes with beautifully presented food (as in the past), these boxes look like they’ve come off a malfunctioning conveyor belt. Our luncheon guest had his coffee served in a paper cup. What has happened to Bleu Monkey? This used to be one of our very favorite restaurants in Syracuse—we loved going there every week. So disappointed.
They had to choose from. Sundays breakfast is served until 3pm, mostly college student area. Staff was friendly, helpful.

love this place the food was better than most places i have gone too and certainly better than ihop. the staff was so friendly and the environment was very welcoming and relaxing. it was the perfect place to rewind and recharge after a long trip. was super surprised at how reasonable the price was at the end.

This place went in a completely opposite direction after the end of the 2024 semester. They replaced the sit-down atmosphere with kiosks, giving it a fast-food cafeteria-ish vibe. A guy in the kitchen wiped his nose on his arm and went right back to making food. All the sushi and sashimi combos are gone and sashimi is only available ala cart or by sashimi app. The soup was packed in plastic at such a high temperature that the container literally deformed, melting, and was untouchably hot (McDonald’s Coffee Lawsuit waiting to happen) Really disappointed in this turn of events for Bleu Monkey, the quality is down and the prices are UP I don’t think I’ll be back

Been here one time in my life and got salmonella. Safe to say I won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone. One of the most painful experiences I’ve gone through

Had breakfast and lunch here a few times since they reopened for 2024 after summer break. Their breakfast, in particular, is amazing and a great addition to the existing menu. I had quesadilla and the chef and staff were so kind to adjust according to my dietary needs. And it was delicious!!! I can tell the amount of care that was put into the cooking. I will definitely be back for more and try other items in their breakfast menu.
Dietary restrictions: No eggs, no garlic, no onions, no mushrooms.

I'm really disappointed to see the direction that Bleu Monkey is going, as I used to consider this place one of the nicest sit-down restaurants on Marshall St. The food is fine if you're looking for sushi, and they have some wonderful unique rolls, but their menu no longer meets the expectations of a traditional sushi restaurant and the layout is closer to cafeteria style self-service. Personally, I was really disappointed that even though we ate there, everything was on trays in disposable plastic containers, and prepared orders were called out every few minutes. It works if you want something quick, but for the price there are better options around.
